I've always had this motto: You need to go through it in order to get to it. I do my best to deal with it. I realize that tomorrow, at this same time., things somehow will be different. When I lived by the sea, I would go to it and just sit and watch the waves. The sea soothed me. I live in the mountains now and we have babbling brooks....so sometimes I go to the brook that sits at the edge of my yard, That soothes me too. But knowing that things will not remain the same is what gets me through.

Exercise is a great stress relief. Just going out for a 10-20 min jog can really help clear your mind. Or even a swim.

Another thing I have found recently is self relaxation and hypnosis. There are many great books and tapes that can help you learn to relax and let everything go. There are even Apps for Smart phones that you can listen to at home.

Helps me to also get rid of headaches

First I take some deep breaths and withdraw from the situation to get proper perspective.

Then I plan my strategy or strategies for coping. This could be exercising, listening to music, playing with my pets and much more.

My hubs are all about stress and coping mechanisms. Check them out and I hope they give you some more ideas for overcoming stress or anxiety. Don't think I'm allowed to link to them here but if you click on my name I think you will be taken to them.

    FOLLOW HAPPINESS By BERNARD LEVINE

Listen to the voice inside you and be at peace in your mind.

It’s amazing that you can talk to the Creator of this vast universe

    in a soft whisper

    one-to-one

    and He listens to you.

Only through prayer will you find

your true inner self and liberty.

Prayer is the key that opens the door to the awesome power of God.

True happiness comes in abundance when you pray to God with all your heart.

In this world, it doesn’t matter what people think of you…

the only thing that matters is what God thinks of you.

Follow what makes you happy and fills you with passion.

The key to inner wealth is to make melody your friend.

Treasure this day that God has given you

to be more open and to love more fully.

Call out the seeds of greatness

    and encourage someone.

When you deposit your love into the hearts of strangers

    That’s when miracles begin.

Enrich your soul soaking in the beauty of nature.

Take time to tell someone about Jesus.

Walk through the world with eyes of love.

When you reach out to bless the poor

    You’ll change your life forever.

It’s your daily prayer that refreshes you

from the clutter and noise of the world.

Take responsibility for your life and future.

Thank God for His goodness and all the blessings He gives you.

    God’s genius is everywhere.

    Live your best life.
