If you were an atheist, which religion would sound most convincing to you?
Wow, that is the most difficult question of philosophy to get the real answer. I have no idea to convince someone, but I have only one religion in myself; that is my moral for my parents. You all believe in various religions and respect them. Why don't you respect your parents, so I think my parents are the most religion that I have to respect and belove.
Thank you so much for your great philosophical question!
If we are talking about religion I will call myself an atheist cause I don't pracice a certain belief. And if I would have found one religion more convincing than the others I probably would not be an atheist.
But, even if I don't believe in god, I sure have my own way to see the world and any world beyond. I am not out of spiritual belief just because I don't think any of the theories are right.
Great question though, took some to put the words right!
Christianity of course brother. It takes pure love for a myrthr to die for the whole world.
Hands down, the one that does, and still cleans the air of many of our worlds religious folly's...is the one representing the simple truth that we have all made up our own personal religions. Whether we choose to follow what our parents taught, or the church that we were brought to’s minister etc….they are all tainted by our own innate will to belong, and to be happy, to be self-serving, to be part of the winning team.
The most convincing to me is the religion of common sense. It is most expertly spelled out in the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster! Don't laugh so fast, visit this page and read the 'About' link's introduction. It was created from a college student in Oregon here, and has grown quite larger than I believe he expected, throughout the entire world. Its religion is NOT to make fun of other religions! Read and be enlightened!

if i would be an atheist, than i would choose the religion of God .
I would say Bhuddism.... Perhaps not every aspect, but it's peaceful and there are some things which ring true.
The hard thing about this is people will mostly answer with their religion since they are not actually atheists.
An Atheist doesn't believe in God so they would, I am guessing then follow a godless religion.
i have always believed that everyone knows right and wrong and really don't need a religion to tell you what is........most religions tell us what we should already know....but if i have to choose 1....i'll pick chirstianity
I used to be agnostic and I became a Christian 3 years ago. If I had never found Christianity though I've always admired Buddhists for their peace.

Outside of finding someone who will actually respect your request to stop, I don't particularly think it's possible. If it bothers you that much, I would just say to ignore them. Might be the most polite thing to do under circumstances.

If you cant prove that the Bible is false, how can you call it lies. That is irrational, for to call someone a liar you must have proof to the contrary to what they are saying. Anything else is personal opinion and mere speculation.

Many believers like to say that Atheists should prove that there is no God. Believers should know that existence has to be proved, not the non-existence. If a thing exists, it is possible to prove its existence. So believers should prove the existence of God if he exists. But if they want to do it,...

Can you prove the Flying Spaghetti Monster doesn't exist?I know this question sounds like I'm trolling but I assure you I'm trying to ask it legitimately. I see questions all the time on HubPages like "Do you believe in god?" and "If god doesn't exist, prove it." I would say...

Why are people trying to convince themselves that the FSM is not on par with their own religions? There is not one logical reason that the Church of The Flying Spaghetti Monster should be seen as any different from all of the other major religions. The concept follows the same path. And there is...

In my opinion this is a pretty sweet religion. I heard about it from a friend of mine who is actually a follower. I have a hub written about it if anyone wants a basic overview. But it's a really cool religion. There aren't too many rules and there is a lot of "be nice to other people"...
