The fact that you cannot control everyone and everything, that the future is reached by many paths, and that other people and things may have impacts on your life are reasons why you can be fine, but still worry.

Worry is  habit that comes from your childhood, especially if it has been a difficult one. Anxiety sets in and after a while you don't even know what you are worrying about.
A doctor once said to me that in the patients she sees ,the sick ones think they're well and the well ones think they're sick.

Sometimes you cannot out run your DNA and it is just in a certain person's nature to worry.  It can be overcome but takes a lot of work.

Allow me to give you a brief background........

My dog, whom I fed with a medicine dropper as a puppy, six years ago, just died in the last few days..................Tuesday, before Thanksgiving Thursday.

I grieve deeply............this animal was a  loyal and obiendent pet.  I am on record as saying, " he is the best dog that I have had in over 20 years"................(farm girl, speaking here)   I  have been around MANY animals.

I grieve for my dog.............I wonder, if the outcome might have been different, if I had taken him to the vet on Thursday, Wednesday, rather than Friday.    My heart hurts............

Yet, here I am, on Saturday.........putting on a happy and joyful face, in front of the 85 senior citizens who expect me, to feed them breakfast and lunch.

This is my duty and my vow.....................I can not burden them with my  worry, neither can I expect that each and every single one of them, has never felt loss, agony, indecision, betrayal.

My "job" is to make their day a bit more pleasant...............I AM a professional, even when it means I have to hide my own pain.

Like baygirl just said it depends on who you are and what you have experienced, and how you envision your present and future state.I will also add that having too much time on our hands may lead to a wandering mind, to worry.
That is the reason why it is good to learn how to be positive, why to be positive and practice it every single step of the way. Meditation, contemplation, exercise... do things that improve your bodymind. You won't have time or thought for worry.

I also find that some society, cultures, spiritualities insist on making the being focus on worry or fear, when we definitely all benefit from focusing on peace and hope.
    Positive, positive, positive. Ooommmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
    Love and peace to all

I personally just rung my internal bell to wake myself up from those nightmares of the past...and I smize, and I have fun in peace.
