Fresh apple cider is absolutely great for all pain, I know personally and you need to incorporate apple cider vinegar into your diet, I have it in salads almost daily.

Try butterbur. I read you can only get it online, and I never have headaches so I don't take any headache remedy but it might be worth a try, right?

There is a supplement, Acetyl L-Carnitine. It helps get blood the brain and is considered a powerful antioxidant. Neurologist suggested to take 1500mg per day to get rid of headaches. It works, just make sure you buy a good brand. Quality over discount.

Magnesium is mineral that is found in leafy vegetables, nuts and seeds. Researches show that this has promising result for headache and migraine relief. But high doses of magnesium are dangerous.

You are right about taking too much magnesium. It is good to know the "safe upper limits" of the supplements that you take. You also need to know what to eat to help your body absorb the magnesium.

I get migraines 3-4 times a week without my preventative medication (Propanolol), but before seeing the doctor about the frequency of them I would just have to go to sleep in a dark room until it subsided with a cool cloth over my head and eyes.  Good luck!  They are miserable!

This sounds crazy but if you massage your hand at the crook of your thumb, starting at the joint and working your way out it seems to be helpful.

Have you tried massaging your hand? I can never seem to do it long enough to get any sufficient relief from my headaches. I do know several massage therapists that are good at doing just that. But, their expert treatments are expensive.

    1. Breathing! Breathe in through one nostril and out the other, then in through the one you exhaled from and out through the other. Try this for a few minutes.
    2. Spinal alignment. If you can, get to a chiropractor, get an inversion table, and/or do some yoga for back pain.
And Goego's suggestion of massaging in the crook of your thumb is an acupressure point that may also work. Acupuncture may also help.
    Be well.

Take 2 spoons honey any time you have migraine for relief. also you could put a drop of honey in the nostril opposite to the side the pain is.
Try taking 2 spoons honey daily. You can take a spoon in morning and another in the evening.

Remove all sugar and sweetners from your diet....especially aspartame!!

I don't know if it's available there but here there's a product called 4Head, it's basically peppermint oil and really does help. xxx

I agree! Artificial sweeteners are among the worst things that you can eat. You are better off eating less "real sugar."

Diet is important, but there are vitamins and supplements that you can take. Most people can minimize or eliminate headaches by making a simple adjustment to their supplements.

I started taking 500 miiligrams of calcium and 250 milligrams of magnesium in addition to my daily regimen. For more details, read my latest blog.

    Thank you!
