   write really strong, engaging content that others want to read.  Read the hubs of others and leave meaningful, engaging comments that show that you actually read their hub.  Ask questions and leave meaningful answers to other peoples questions.  Participation - and being an engaging writer are both key.

   After looking at your profile Sottway, I'd have to say, you seem to have the leg up on this.  I've only been around for around 7 weeks, so I'm still trying to figure it all out, but for the most part I'm seeing that producing the right content is huge.  Find things that many people want, through researching keywords on Google Keyword Tool.  Write content surrounding it, and the write some more until you've distinguished yourself as a person of expertise.  At the same time, engage in everything concerning hubpages, such as reading other hubs, leaving meaningful comments, answering questions (like this), and following others, as you would have them follow you.  I'm am seeing a trend related to Karma being a part of it all, as well.  Other than that, it's about publishing articles that people want to see.

   by being you. by interacting with others. by not putting on a mask. by making an emotional connection with your audience with what's written. oh and showing the PASSION in what you write.
