   It can be disappointing--but there are probably many who read and enjoy it or get something out of it, even if they don't comment.  :-)

   Sometimes, depending on the Hub. For me it's as long as I get a certain amount of views I'm happy.

   This used to bother me, but then I realized that all of my "hard" work wasn't giving me all of the results that I wanted out of my Hubs. You see, in order to actually make money from Your Hubs, you have to take the time to write a bit more. Talk to other HUbbers, and connect with them.
   You also have to learn how to Market  your work, and get the traffic that you need..
   If you really work on your Hubs and you STILL do not get the traffic or attention that you want from them, then yeah, that would get me upset!

   Sometimes it does.  I can see that there have been plenty of page views but not comments.  I wish they would take a minute to comment.  It makes you feel like you are doing something positive.

   For me it's not the "tons of work" it's that I've shared something, I'm thinking, with people out 'there' somewhere, and so when you don't get get any 'comment' responses then you're not sure, and it simply doesn't feel like, you've actually shared anything with anybody. I write about things that matter to me, very frequently things that I am passionate about, things that I desire to share with others, so, it is kind of no fun when they seem to just sit there and fad away. When you check the 'stats' and see that a hub has been visited 30 or 70 times with no comments, even if there are a few 'awesome' or 'interesting', etc, tallies, you don't know if dozens of people look at the 1st paragraph and left or read the whole thing and didn't car for it.
   
   But, I'll tell you the thing that really, I'll say, confuses me . . . the last hub I published was on Blues music, the significant role it's had in the development of American popular music, etc, etc, and I've gotten one comment (thank you tlmcgaa70) and view visits. Now, Blues is something I am passionate about and I realize many people simply aren't, or actually have no interest in it whatsoever - but here's the part that's difficult for me; when I see all these comments popping-up on hubs along the line of 're-grouting your bathroom' or 'how to properly tie your shoes', I do feel a bit frustrated.
   
   Please don't think I am in any way mocking useful 'how to' type hubs or at all disparaging those who comment on them, that's not my point at all - it's only that, when you've written and published something from your heart, something you seek to share with others, it can be a bit discouraging no one seems to see or care about it if they do see it.

   a comment is one proof that someone has genuinely read it. sometimes you'll get views but not really sure if the hub was really read. so, if there's a comment left by a reader, it makes us feel that the work we've done is valued by our readers.
   If there are no comments, it sure makes us wonder if they liked it or not. it makes us wonder more if we received no feedbacks. you're left clueless.

   I like getting comments or feedback and I try to leave a comment on every hub I read that is enjoyable. So sometimes it can be a little discouraging and make you doubt your work.

    I'd be lying if I said I didn't get somewhat disappointed when a hub doesn't get any comments at all. I like feedback, it's really the only way I know that people are enjoying my writing.

    Definitely! I think that this is only human. We all look for verification in life and when we put ourselves out there in a hub that we created it is fantastic when someone comments to let you know that they appreciated your work. When people do not comment you're left to wonder if your work has failed to produce the result you intended.

    Yes because I am worried maybe my article doesn't mean a thing,
    
    No because fellow hubbers will not click on my ads and don't give me money at all. I would rather like traffic from the search engine to read my hubs and click my ads

    It's really strange how this environment (site) creates a need for feedback more than when I write for newspapers and magazines. I think it's because you get an actual feel for the flow of traffic, and there are buttons and comment sections. With regular print publications, everything was about the writing and I tended to forget there were people at the 'other end.'  To this day, I'm surprised (but gratified) when someone says they read a magazine piece, or they liked a story.
    
    The interaction with readers here creates an interesting internal dynamic.

    I really don't receive very many comments on my hubs. It does not bother me not to get them; but it IS nice when I do! (lol)
    
    I write from the heart and when I get to the last word of the last line, I know that I have been truthful and have given the topic my best, in that moment. So at the end of the day--that's what matters most to me. It's also a good feeling when I review my stats and see the number of views my hubs have gotten.
    
    As long as the readers are reading and voting UP, I'm happy!!! All IS WELL!!
