   Mostly pleasure. Or relief - sometimes I have an idea that I just have to get down somewhere, write about and explore.  Having other people read what I write is also a real pleasure and a privilege.  And so Hub Pages was the ideal place!  Earning some money is definitely also a bonus but it takes a while to be able to do this, so  I think you have to love to write first and foremost.

   I write mostly for pleasure, and if I make some money along the way, that is just a bonus. However my payment is knowing people are enjoying my stories, or hubs. It also is an ego booster for me of sorts, but not enough fool myself into believing I am God's gift to man kind thank you very much.

   Both.  There's no guarantees, but people are making money writing articles on HubPages.  Too many established, experienced HP writers have publicly shared their success testimonies for anyone to doubt that.  Do I think I have what it takes to make money here?  Yes, if I apply myself to regularly producing quality content here.
   
   Years ago people wrote online to get their material read, and there was little chance they would make money doing it.  But people still filled writer's sites with material.  I think that says a lot about writers. 
   
   I'm enjoying getting to know the community of authors here, and I get pleasure from simply logging onto HP and catching up on what's happening.  I like the international flavor here, too.  So, I guess the best way to put it is, that yeah, I write on HP in the hopes of making money doing it, but the struggle and learning are stimulating pursuits, too.

   I write for money, or more accurately, I write because I don't want to have a conventional day job.  I want to not wake up to an alarm clock, not have a morning commute, and not do work I don't really want to do.  Writing on HubPages satisfies all of the above.

   At the moment I write for pleasure. It's a great feeling to see your work published. Eventually I would love to be able to make a small income from writing, but have a long way to go before I reach a payout. I have a lot to learn about linking, and seo. Hopefully I will be able to look into this and improve my hubs in order to see higher traffic and possibly higher earnings.

   First off please try to review your question prior to submission, I don't know what the word "Pleasue" is, I think you meant pleasure.
   
   I write on hubpages, because its what its here for, to share with others my long lived life expereinces, my discoveries, my knowledge, my world views, and so many other countless reasons. 
   The last reason I've come here is for earning an income, because not everyone is going to be such a great success at that part.  Just like in any facet of living there's going to be those who go above and beyond the call of duty.  There will be those who get to be in the spot light, and receive great honors, and than there are those who just won't make the cut.
   
   I'm truly looking to get my words heard across the world and back, and that's my truest purpose on hubpages, for I never know when the next day may be my last.

   It started out as a hobby that could earn some money when I first became a SAHM, but now it's mostly for pleasure. I would have to have much more free time to make this a 'job' solely for money. Perhaps someday...

    I write for a little of both. I'm just now started to see a decent amount of revenue, so for my first year at HP I was writing mainly for kicks and giggles.

    I have to say it's pleasure before business. I've been writing since I was in six grade and I think writing is my twin bro. I would love to share my thoughts through my articles and if money comes along, that would be great!

    Alot of my hubs are informational. I like teaching my ideas, expereinces, opinions,thoughts,facts, and knowledge, to the world. I like to help people live better, be more efficient,and to have better lives. That is the main reason why I use hubpages, and thats also why I like to answer questions.

    I write for fulfillment.  I am old and have had many life experiences that I want to share with people in order to help them.  Nothing makes me feel better than to have someone read one of my hubs and then tell me that it helped them or that they enjoyed reading it.
    
    Once you write for internet consumption, your articles are always in cyber space.  So, some day after I'm long gone, my words, hopefully, will still be helping people.  It's like giving a piece of myself to the world...and I like the thought of doing that a lot.

    well i write because its my passion ive been writing since i was 13 yrs old and im not going to stop i make poems and short storys  and i like what i do you have to love what you do not just for the little money and besides if anyone comes for the money whats the point to write articles.its about makeing the reader like your work

    I want to share my knowledge helping other people train their dogs.  The main reason dogs go to the shelter is lack of training.  I have trained over 1000 probably close to 2000 dogs.  I just want to help save a life both canine and human.  Making money would be nice too but it's not the reason I got started writing training articles.

    I mostly like to write for pleasure. Before joining HP i never know that i can write something but now i have published 6 hub. Thats great I am becoming fond of it, now a days i sapre 2/3 hours a day for HP.

    I write on here as a way of both earning money and writing about things that interest me.  I'm a self-employed freelancer who is either so busy and frazzled I come to this site as a way of getting away from real work; or else who is so between-projects I have chunks of extra time on my hands here or there.
    
    Having lived my entire adult without writing "whatever I feel like writing", a lot of ideas, experience, and past research have been building up in my head for decades now; so being able to unload a lot of those things I've been wanting to write about AND supplement my not-enough "real" income works out well for me.
    
    I'm still not usually writing what I'd really like to write (because I try to alter my writing in a way that will hopefully give it a shred of redeeming value and/or usefulness; but I'm getting closer to writing what I could call "writing for pleasure"
    
    For now, I have to say "for money".  If I'd change my writing ways I could earn more money than I now do, but if I did that I'd just be turning my HP writing into a second job (which I don't have the time or energy to do).

    i write for a regional fishing magazine. They have franchised nationally in many other regions, now. I am lucky to get an article in anymore. There are more people submitting work. Some of them are famous outdoors men or well established authors. Some just give them an article for free to go offshore fishing.
    
    A reader told me one of my articles would be perfect for HubPages. I have no web presence for art (career profession), never mind my writing. This has been a good place to start. I am not on Facebook (properly - it is still half started with no picture) or Twitter. Duh. I don't get much traffic at this point. In this venue, you must be able to generate your own visits. I know people for that and know how to sling words at the search engine, so I get a burst of business from time to time. I have not pursued that aspect hard, yet.
    
    For now, I am experimenting, and learning how all of this fits together. I avoided the net out of wisdom, but now I have ignored it to increase my income. I haven't made much money, but I see the potential of this multi-media magazine format, hub for other sites, web community, regional opportunities, shindig. I don't hope to be growing from here. I am looking forward to it. This is my first well in this desert. I'll always come back to it.

    Both, I love writing and I like to earn at the same time. I like to shoot 2 birds in one arrow that''s why I choose Hubpages at least I can have the hope of earning if i will write more quality hubs

    I started as money, and realized that if I switch to pleasure, I would write more and be happier. And then the money would come later.
