I will drop a peppermint candy in a glass of ginger ale and drink it, slowly. That seems to work well for me. Than I get on the couch and tell my husband how sick I am, so he will fix supper! That helps my nausea a lot!
Peppermint tums, any brand really, is the best thing I have ever found. (Equate are made by Tums) It works immediately for me. For an all time cure, a little ginger root grated into salad is fantastic too.
Depends upon the cause. There are some OTC medicines, I believe--mostly effective if the cause is digestive. Seems to me something like "Milk of Magnesia," or the somewhat similar "Kaopectate" can sometimes be effective--though it's been a while, thankfully, since I had to deal with nausea, so you should probably check labels carefully.
But you can also be nauseated by inner ear or balance problems, vertigo and motion sickness, if I'm not mistaken. Dramamine used to be the standard med for the last, and may still be.
Nausea can even arise from emotional stressors such as anxiety, horror or disgust. (The good part about that scenario is that the nausea will almost certainly go away fairly soon on its own if the cause of the emotion ceases, or even just if you adjust to whatever is bothering you.)
So, all in all, I think the standard advice applies: if the problem persists, and especially if you can't tell what is causing it, you should see a doctor.
For a quick fix: peppermint tea or Pepto Bismol, sipping warm Coke or ginger ale to make you burp.
Overall, reduce your stress, evaluate your eating habits and if it keeps up, get it checked out.
Traditionally, ginger is a remedy for nausea. There are now ginger candy available. However, what is more important is to find out what is causing the nausea and to remove the cause of the nausea.
A natural way to get rid of nausea is to drink ginger tea. Most people have this spice in their kitchen so it's easier and faster than running to the store for some OTC meds. Boil/steep some ginger with hot water for about 5-10 minutes. You can add a tea bag of your favorite tea for some flavor, or simply mix some raw honey. Works for me every time!
I may get nausea if i am hungry. However, someone may get nausea when he eats too much before boating. You can take a seasicknes medicine in case that you get nausea.
I would say the obvious answer....throw up. If your nauseated there is something in your system that needs to get out....get it out. Then you'll feel better.
