Flip side of the question:  What do you feel Pres. Obama could/should have done for you but didn't?

Nothing, actually.  The only real thing I wish he would have done differently was not try so hard to get Congress to do its Constitutional job of creating and passing legislation and do what every President before him did, come up with his own plan and force it down their throat ... what Conservatives call leadership.

Stopping America from getting into a depression and back on to the road to recovery is more than a four-year job in itself.  And he did a great job, for no economic slide like we had with its dynamics stopped at a recession and no major financially-based recession or depression has recovered so quickly.

On top of that, you have ObamaCare, a landmark piece of legislation the size of Medicare and social security; the abolishment of Don't Ask, Don't Tell, another piece of landmark legislation; and negotiating the largest trade deal since 1994; all but the latter fought tooth-and-nail by a non-compromising Conservative party.  These plus all of the others I have listed in my hub on Obama's accomplishments amount to one of the most significant three years of any President America has had.

He has done quite enough for his first term.  Now America needs to elect a Congress that will work for America, doing what the writers of the Constitution intended a Congress to do, and help him do the same for the next four years; for the President has shown, time and agiain, that if Congress can compromise with itself, he is willing to compromise with Congress.  (Yes, I am suggesting Obama's re-election is a foregone conclusion.)

President Obama did not create the problems the country was suffering when elected; they did not surface overnight and will not be resolved easily or quickly.

I am grateful that President Obama has the heart to pursue and accomplish his goal to extend tax benefits for those still working and unemployment benefits for those of us now without a job. .

Stuck to his guns.  He comprised on some issues that he shouldn't have.  He had a Democratic congress his first year in office.  Yet all he did was squander that opportunity away. It's as if he didn't have a backbone.  I have a backbone.  I feel it everyday, breaking my back for peanuts.   You know salaries haven't changed in twenty years or better.  Back in 1993 my first retail management job paid me $18,500.00.  Starting pay for retail managers in the Midwest is $17,000.00.  It has actually gone down, and these people are required to work longer hours than what I had to back then.  Malls stay open later now.  There was no 4 am black Friday mornings or staying pass 9:00pm ever.  Obama failed to stand his ground and help the working class.  That's why people who make up to $50k or less, are willing to pick a man for President who makes that kind of money in a month off of interest alone...  In this income class Obama should be way ahead of any Republican candidate.  That income/tax bracket  is the heart of the Democratic party.

He could have stood up and said , "no more threats to the United States will be tolerated"..................but, instead he dared to apologize for me. and the USofA.

He could have stood up and spoken for tens of thousands, perhaps, millions of bi-racial  or even multi-racial children..........telling them, they are someone worthy..........but he describes himself as only, a black man.     Where is the homage to his mother or to the Grandparents who reared and educated him?    In my thinking..........this is his single shortest greatfall.    He could have eased the idenity  crisis of many children and families...............but HE chose to draw a line.   This is despicable!

He could have said:   you worked and earned it, so you deserve recognition..........he did not do this......................he said, that because I have a job, I owe more.

Then, he went on tax payer sponsored ( paid for ) vacation(s).

Obama, plays the " race card" at every turn, when HE is a great and influential position to change it...................yet, he willingly dismisses his opportunity.

I, never endorsed Mr. Obama..........but I did, expect that  HE would lead the way for the children of mixed cultures and races...............he failed, in the least of what I expected of him.

Obama..............a man, whose time, has not  yet come.
