What must a Leopard do to change it's spots?

Is it truly possible for people to change their habits positively and completely, or will they always carry the spots of the leopard (old habits) that they were given or developed earlier in their life?  How must a Leopard change it's spots and in what ways can it remain changed?

As the good old saying goes "A Leopard can never change its spots." The only way to change Leopard's spots is through genetic engineering. Applying this to humans, whatever their habits are, possibly that's just a part of their genetic make-up!

It is possible...oh..but it requires work..going through rings of fire and knives, and then completely burning, like the phoenix..It requires superhuman efforts, and for most of us it takes more than a few lifetimes..

I believe it is possible for a person to change, but they have to want to and be willing to work hard.

I believe that it is possible in rare circumstances, but not probable.  We always revert to type. Or at least most of the time. People can stop drinking, stop cheating, and learn to pick up after themselves, but for how long? Can they stop lying, gossiping or backstabbing? Maybe it depends on the "crime" and on the criminal.

I think change is possible, but it takes a very strong mind and much discipline to make permanent changes. People are always changing, our interests change, our priorities change, our values even change, so of course it is possible but these changes are gradual over time. It takes a strong mind to make changes abruptly and self-discipline to maintain them.
