I feel that once a teen knows the consequences and responsibilities of sex, as well as having a body which is prepared for sex, they should be able to for it as they wish. Of course even over 18 years old I would always recommend contraception, however it seems apparent that a lot of under-age teens do forget to use it!

Having the age old talk with your teen kids is always messy. No matter how open everyone is, it is just awkward. Sex education in 7th grade helps but some are simply not ready for the discussion and tune it out. I would think some begin toying with sex in 8th grade and by 10th grade really want to see what that word is all about. At least in American culture.

Only, and only after marriage.  To have sex before marriage is fornication.  Fornication is a sin, and God will deal with it.  Physical intimacy was created by God for married couples only, for enjoyment and procreation. Why take your purity and give it away to someone who is not your spouse?  God designed marriage to be between a man and a woman so "they two shall be one flesh".  Sex joins those two people together physically and emotionally.  This is why it was designed for marriage. To mess around with sex outside of marriage is a sin, and God will deal with it.  There is a time for it, and that is in a marriage only.  These are not my words, they are God's Word!!!!

Teens should not be having sex. Intimate relationships require a level of emotional maturity that teens do not have. This is due to how the brain develops so even the most mature teen would be just mature enough to know that their not ready.

id like to say when they are 92 but it's just not practical. Whether we tell them they can't or not they will go and do it anyway so the 'birds and the bees' talk is really important if you approach it the right way.

Most adults don't think teens should have sex, but teens keep on doing it anyway.  I feel that if they insist on doing this crazy thing they should be smart about it and be informed and protected.

Whereas teen pregnancy and STIs are real, parent and family responsibility in the life of a teenager is to offer complete guidance and parental support in the event of a sexual experiment gone wrong! read more

Seventh grade is FAR too late to have sex ed. It should be done in elementary school. By the time I was in the eighth grade, several of my classmates already had children.

By the time I was in tenth grade, I knew very few virgins.

By the time I graduated high school, nobody I knew had not engaged in some form of sexual activity, and I personally consider it weird if someone has not been sexual by the time they leave high school.

I think that teens should begin experimenting sexually at 14, or when they enter high school. I think it is important to their development, and helps build confidence. It can be incredibly awkward for a virgin to enter college when all their classmates have had sex or had some form of physical or oral sex. I think it is important to grow sexually, especially after puberty when nature intends us to.

I think it is important to teach sexual education at a young age, say, fifth grade because it is important for people to understand sex well before they do it. Teens need to know that sex is okay to do, and need to know all the risks and protection styles that come with it.
