Do you find hubs about making money on HubPages legit generally?

I see many hubs about making money on here but I question if they are tried and true advice or if they are hubs that the author simply knows will get hits because wouldn't we all love to make more money from our writing.

When I'm looking for that kind of information, I choose hubbers who've been here for a long time and have a high following. This will require you to look at the hubber profile. Then, if you're looking for information that changes, such as how to do backlinks, look for fairly recent hubs. If you find the information in one hub good, look at the hubber's other hubs, and follow the hubber. I've been very pleased with the good information I've received from the veterans here.

I only know what I experience, and I will not lie to my readers.  This includes personal experiences, recipes, travel, and product reviews.  If you aren't going to tell the truth or be honest, don't even write the article.  Unfortunately, a lot of so-called writers will write anything for money or the attention.  Hits from Hubs on this site don't guarantee you money.  And neither do the amount of followers.  You have to attract traffic outside of HubPages.  You are basically building your online business.  Writers are known to sling the bullshit.  Don't believe me?  Try walking into a writers' meeting or conference.  You have to decide what you're going to believe.

Yes, I do think that the writer fully believes that they are telling you how to make money on HubPages.
However, some of them may be incorrect in their thinking.  No one really knows what Google likes and what it doesn't, and the algorithm changes regularly. I have read many conflicting hubs about SEO, and have to try to reason for myself what Google would want to reward.

I don't believe everything I read period. Since we are all writers here we  can do our own research about money making ideas if they seem just too good to be true.  I don't necessarily believe the hype and I think if anyone was really getting rich on those money making schemes they probably won't want too much competition. Ii is  also possible  that since money making articles probably generate a lot of traffic (since everyone wants to know how to make money)  many try  to get a piece of the action even though the information may not be verified.

It all depends. There are different kinds of money making hubs. There are hubs on how to make money online, how to make money on HP and how to make money (general).

If the hubber is new and writes a hub on how to make money on Hubpages, I am less likely to believe he/she knows what they are talking about.

If the hubber is new online and writes a hub about making money online I am less likely to also read that.

A hubber has to have some sort of experience online or on Hp for the hub to make any impact.

My hub on how to make money with your hobbies have been tried and tested. I have made money with my hobbies and I did ask a few friends about what hobbies they think they can make money with. I have not made money with all the hobbies I listed but other people have so that hub has credential.

My hub on how I make money on HP and other freelancing sites was written because a hubber asked me based on my profile so that also has credential since I do make money via these methods.
