In Evangelization, what is the primary (first) principle one should preach?
The Cross, the resurrection, the Incarnation, or God's love (or something else)? Why should one start with this idea?
Hummmm... The first goal ought to be to get people on one accord in the fact that "all have sinned and come short of the glory". This is the one thing that every human being can relate to. We have all done something wrong at some point in our lives. Basically you want the people you're speaking with to understand why they need Jesus before you even introduce him.
"When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power."
- 1 Corinthians 2:1-2
Preaching anything first through logic or reasoning will only result in people trying to make themselves better apart from God. They need to know and hear that the only way to God is provided by the sacrifice that Jesus made for them on the cross. There is no amount of striving to be better on our own without Jesus' sacrifice that can bring us to God. Any goodness evident in mankind is the result of God's goodness. (James 1:17) The Incarnation is important, but it's not the teaching that will demonstrate why we need Jesus. God's love is wonderful, but the misinterpretation of what "love" is in our day leads to all kinds of confusion and teachings that do not accurately represent God's love. The cross is what we need to teach first. It is the core teaching of the gospel that leads us to a right understanding of all the other teachings. It is the demonstration of the greatest and highest love, the reason we are able to have new life, and welcomed into God's family as his children.
Be led by the Spirit of God use His Word, the Word never has a void return and the Word shall never lose its power, but I do agree with Ellana as a rule Romans Road . . . Romans:3:23, 5:8, 6:23 & 9:10 . . . peace out RDlang and let the grace of God rule in your life.
Be yourself and let the Holy Spirit guide you. If we get caught up with which doctrine to talk about first or last, then we are no better than the pharisees. Jesus spoke to every individual as an individual.
Nice, sometimes a person may focus on the literal words of the scriptures and miss the true spirit of the lesson. I know I have been guilty of this on a few occasions. Best wishes. DR
What God tells you to preach, nothing more, nothing less. If you do it, it is dead, if he is working in you, it bears fruit. You can do nothing without him.

Think about this: God, out of profound love for us allowed his own wonderful, dear son be sacrificed for our sins. He didn't sin one time. He didn't die for himself. He died for us, to save us. This is why he is called the savior. Jesus sacrificed his life to save us from hell, which were prepared...

Why Do Women Go Against The Word Of God And Seek To Preach In Churches? (1 Corinthians 14:34-36)
by Valerie Washington 11 years ago
Do you think women should be allowed or are fit to become preachers/ministers?This has been a sore subject in my family.(I think they should). Some people believe that women do not have a place in religion as a minister or preacher. In the Holy Bible, it talks about women being seen and not heard...
