I am trying to quit caffeine again, which is impossible, being a lifelong hard core caffeine addict. I am using the step down approach. As soon as I am barely conscious, I take just half of a No-Dose caffeine pill, not the whole pill. Within :30 my head ache will go away, and I will feel barely awake enough to function, and with huge discipline, I can go all day long without any more caffeine. That is absolutey the first thing that I do, not including just turning over and regretting that morning is here.

The very first thing I do is truthfully is whisper a little prayer of thanksgiving..and then I walk to the front of my home, open the doors, and call my kitty if she did not spend the night inside. It's hard to stop at just the 'first' but I will.

The first thing I do when I open my eyes and realise it's the morning of another new day, I say these two powerful words THANK YOU.  I thank the Divine Being, the Creator and Source of life, the God of Love, for the miracle that I am still alive to enjoy another day.  THANK YOU is powerful.

Hi NikiDiva. The first thing I do in the morning is walk out the front door and retrieve my all too important newspaper. This is an addiction for me. Once I have read my cherished newspaper I am free to do whatever I want with a clear conscience.

I spend a few moments on my knees in silent reflection and then ask the Almighty to give me the strength to meet another day.

Thank God for every breath I take when I wake up.

Next will be kissing my wife and seeing her smile!

For me when my eyes first open in the morning I am most definitely rolling over and closing them again.

The first thing that I do is say good morning to God and all creation. Then good morning to the galaxies, solar systems, planet and moons, and all living beings. I usually pray that all living beings find eternal happiness.

Almost every time I wake up (morning or anytime) I roll around, so comfortable, half-remembering my dreams, want to keep sleeping, and think-- Just five more minutes!

I lie there wishing I didn't have to leave the warm cocoon of my bed. I then have at least two cups of Coffee before my eyes open properly . It is safest not to speak to me until the said cups of Coffee have been consumed!

I yell at my cat! She's always trying to get me going.
She looks at me and figures out how else she can drive me crazy.
But after that I just try to figure out what day is it.
Now that I'm older I think I enjoy relaxing before work begins.
But sad to say its yelling at my darling little cat.
