If somebody bought you a winning lottery ticket would you give them a percentage of the winnings.
The obvious answer from most people would be, Yes. The percentage would vary, I expect, from around 10 to 50%. However, let us say that your first prize was $100,000, and the person buying you that ticket was a multi-millionaire who would spend $50,000 on a skiing trip to Switzerland...I doubt I give him or her any of the prize, just thank them profusely.
On the other hand, suppose I was very wealthy and that first prize made up little more than an additional 3 or 4 percent of what I already had, and the person who bought me the ticket was quite poor. Then I might well give them the lot!
So the answer to this quesiton is not as simple as it might at first appear to be. It all depends on circumstances, inlcuding how we feel about money.
Very well said and it makes a lot of sense that everyone is in a different situation before hand and the amount would play a large role as well.
50%??? wow... I think that is a little high...I would probably buy them their dream car or something like that if I won powerball or mega millions....
I will definitely give that person a very good percentage of the winnings. We would not have been talking about any winning if such person had not bought the ticket in the first place. One good turn should deserve another.
Sure...why not? The way I would plan on investing the money, I would plan on living off any interests anyway. Like wisdom, whatever someone does with it after I give it to them is THEIR business!
That is smart, investing the money would be any sensible persons action.
That is the same thing I always said. That way you never lose the money that you won.
Yes, I would give them a percentage of the winnings. Any amount of money you win is beneficial, so why not share with the person responsible!
You are right and it would be selfish to do otherwise.
depends on howmuch i won-1000$ split minimum otherwise I woudnt offer
Of course, wouldn't you? Besides not having done the right thing in the first place just for the sake of doing it, I don't like sour tastes in my mouth for having done the wrong thing.
Absolutely, I would give the person who bought my winning lottery ticket a percentage of what was won. After all, without their help there would have been no winnings. It is the right thing to do!
Tom makes a good point. It would depend on how much you won. If I won a dollar, would I share it? Probably not, because it is so minimal. When I read the question, I like many I am sure, automatically thought big bucks. LOL
Yes, of course. I imagine the amount would be substantial and i wouldn't miss what I never had. I also wouldn't have won anything if the person hadn't gifted me the ticket.
To top it off I think it's the right thing to do.
I think I might give them a dollar for the lottery ticket.
Definitely. I think 50% would be the least a person could do in that situation
If they bought me a ticket with their own money then I would split it with them 50/50. If they ran to the store and bought one with my money I would give them a lot smaller percentage. But yes I would share it with them.
It would be pretty selfish and ungrateful not to. I'd give them a full 50% of the winnings.
I would give them something. But a factor in the amount I give would be dependant on how much I won. If it was small then I would treat them to lunch.
Absolutely. Though maybe a better question is what would you do if you bought someone a winning lottery ticket and they didn't give you a percentage
Yes I would give them a percentage, I would invest some, give some away to God, family and folks needing a loan for small business upgrades. I would also buy my wife a new car and do away with all debt we have.
I would definitely get rid of my debt and pay my house off. But other than maybe buying the adjacent property, building a solid fence to keep my dogs safe and maybe fixing/extending my house a little, a working car would be about the only oth. thing.
Absolutely, it's merely the cost of doing business. Besides, it's a matter of honor.
It would be the honorable and ONLY thing to do! It would be a fifty/fifty deal!
I would just give them five bucks to go get me another one. (lol jk)
(I am sure everyone would share the win.)
I'd first ask why I was getting it! It seems way too suspicious to be true.

To all atheists: what if I asked God for the winning lotto numbers and He said 13, 8, 28, 18, 2, 48and you won, will you believe in Him OR will you say it was luck, coincidence and rigged
