Did anyone else obsess over their HubPages site for the first couple months?
I've been here for going on 2 months now, and I'm constantly checking on my hubs. Seeing if the traffic is going up, or if its going down. Lately I've gotten really into trying to set up backlinks for all of my hubs and I've seen a pretty big change from that. It's very exciting! No, I haven't made a payout yet, which I didn't expect to. And I don't for a while, that's not what i'm asking here. I just want to know which of you constantly kept a close eye on your hubs in the beginning, or perhaps still do months and months later?
Yeah !!!
I do all the time !! can't help it, hubs seem to get addictive, but then there is so much good writing on here it never seems to get boring. not sure how long it will last but I feel like I have found a new way to express myself.
I love it !!!
I'm sure we are not the only ones Missa

Hehe, yeah. I posted all of my hubs on stumbleupon the other night and I got a HUGE increase in traffic just that one night. But it seemed to level out since then. Maybe I should have spread them apart haha.
I actually took the site for granted for the first few months since I joined. I didn't realize it's such a good site since a few months back. Time flies and now I've been here for a year ^_^
Yeah, I've also been here a couple of months and I check hubpages several times a day on most days!
I'm still doing it, and I've been here for five months. I don't check every couple of hours like I used to, but I'm still looking at my stats several times a day.
I've been using HubPages for about a year and a half, and I still check on my hubs all the time! I check my stats at least a few times a day. I also try to improve hubs and figure out how to make them rank higher.
Honestly, I don't check the stats as much as I once did (I was super obsessed before) but it is mostly because I work on other sites and don't have as much time. I use Blogger, Wizzley, Web Answers, and Zazzle, too. They take up a lot of free time. :-)
Still do 2 years later - Answer questions - Join in on forums - write hubs, check stats etc !! I am always taking photos for hubpages !
99% of all hubber do that including myself..lol
I am here nearly 20 months and still obsess over mine...shhhhh...don't tell anyone, they think I have gotten over that.
I don't obsess over the hubscore anymore but my traffic definitely has a hold on me. I have one bad traffic day per week and that's Saturday, my best day is Sunday so I always try to get my traffic up on weekends by publishing new stuff every week and sharing on Google+ and FB. I don't backlink but I keep finding that visitors are linking to me naturally. Be careful with how you set up your backlinks. Make sure they are natural.
Yep,
Although in my defense I'm still semi-new here. I am obsessed and I happen to obsess quite easily so I spend a majority of my day messing around here doing one thing or another. Of course in between life.....
I sure hope it calms down because I really am starting to feel guilty about the time I spend here.
Your "normal" lol.

I didn't think of it as obsessing, but the fact is I guess do. I joined a few forums so I could do backlinking and found some worked and others were duds.
It is pretty fun though.
One year and still obsessing. I think it is getting worse. I am getting close to pay-out and always checking to see how much closer. LOL
Yeah, I did. It's kind of addictive initially. I used to check my profile almost every hour.
First couple of months???
I'm still obsessed over it.
Seriously though, yeah. I'm starting to spend less time on the site and more time doing other things. I've realized that it is not important to publish 100 hubs in 100 days or any other such sillyness. Those things aren't bad but they just aren't necisary. I probably do spend a bit more time than I need to. Like you I've noticed that traffic dramatically increases if I cross link multiple hubs that are on the same or similar topics.
It is really scary when you notice that everything you do becomes something you could potentially write a hub about. And even worse, you start thinking of things to do just so you can take pictures and write about them later.
First two years and going strong. I am completely addicted. HubPages is my scrap book, where my pen pals resides, it is where I dream, where I relax and yes, where I work. I simply love it. My garden is number one but HubPages is competing very well.
Obsess might be too strong of a word but follow with intense interest : absolutely ! There's nothing more exciting than the exchanges of all sorts that go on here. You're own writings, but also other people's work. And the variety of topics is out of this world.
I'm so obsessed, Missa, that I posed a similar hub question last week. I'm constantly checking everything. I've only been here about 3 weeks! I don't even know how to do backlinks, keyword search, etc. I'm just loving the community, loving the creating/writing process but clueless as loon. I'm still waiting for earnings program/ad sense to straighten out, much less any pay out. Maybe, I'll see that in October, whatever. But it doesn't stop me from checking anyway like a dope fiend looking for another hit . . .lol, lol, lol.

I know there have been a lot of changes in the air in the past 10 or so days... There was another big Panda update... then the stinkin' Penguin and all. And, HP has been tinkering around with the design of pages. My traffic has remained relatively constant through it all. But, over...

Curious if it is worth your time, I ran across info on it and didn't know if we could benefit from it.

Let us all rejoice; I have finally had my first day (January 9th), since I started using HubPages Ad system, where I have earned over $10.Things are looking up as I'm getting lovely waves of traffic from all my work last year.Who's with me? If you've earned $10.01 to a billion dollars in a...

I am having a bad day - I've been ill for a week, son #2 has now been ill for a month, husband came home yesterday full of despair at not getting promotion and much needed pay rise. So this morning I gave myself my usual half-baked pep talk about my new 'career' online. Then came on HP for a...

produces: anxiety!C'mon, Hubpages! I've been a good boy. I've improved my hubs. I've been "awarded" a Level 2 Commentator (oh joy.) My personal story of near death and survival is consistently coming up TWICE (original hub and five year follow up) in Google search on page one out of over...
