What do you usually say when you pray?

Do you complete the four elements of prayer?
    A - Adoration
    C - Confession
    T - Thanksgiving
    S - Supplication

All the four elements are important, but not necessarily in every prayer. I personally prefer to think of prayer as a conversation, in which I open up to God about whatever is on my heart and mind at the moment. If I were to follow a formula or ritual for praying, I'm afraid it would depersonalize the act of prayer.

you have a point there sir Michael.. I was just tempted to ask the question because we are the same, I pray as my way of talking to God not following all the four elements. It was nice though to include all four when you pray..Thanks for the answer.

I don't use any formula, but I frequently use the Lord's Prayer, because it is rather complete on the things we need for spiritual progress.

But I do keep in mind the need not to be distracted when I pray. It's rude and selfish to be thinking of other things when talking to God. I know He will still love me, but the message means so much more to me when I can give it my fullest attention. I need to feel relaxed, humble, full of love, perfectly confident and fully responsible.

The few times that I was able to perfect this, miracles happened.

I believe the Lord's Prayer has all the ACTS elements that is why it was considered to be the best format in praying.. Yes, right, not getting distracted throughout your communication with God is also best to be considered
