   Is anyone else tired of these athlete's denying using PED's, only to be caught/come clean later?

   Of course we all are.  There is nothing that we can do about it, except for playing professional sports ourselves, and not using PED's.  Not like that is going to happen, most of us don't even have a chance.

   I'm hoping that even though we see some very high profile cases, that most professional athletes don't use PEDs. I know this might sound/seem "Pollyana-ish" of me, but that's my hope. I think most people would rather succeed or fail on their own strength, and don't even think about trying to "enhance" illegally.

   Tired? I've switched off completely. I used to be an avid spectator of all kinds of athletics and other sports but haven't watched on a regular basis since around 1985!! Yes. I think it was the Olympic final of the 100 metres - Ben Johnson against Carl Lewis? - would that be 1984? Johnson won but the whole world was suspicious. He took the glory and the gold away from a truly great clean athlete and for me that was it.
   I got to thinking that many many athletes were taking PED's. It turns out that was, and still is, true.
   
   The sports world now is awash with drugs. Scientists, agents, middle men - who knows how many are involved. And how clever they've all become. It's so difficult for the authorities to get a grip because the chemicals used are so subtle, and the tests used to detect them so varied.
   
   Lance Armstrong's recent confessions are a revelation but they won't stop others from cheating. He fooled the whole world for decades - for the glory of his own celebrity!! How cheap, how nasty, yet he's made millions of dollars for charity!!
   
   I'm sorry, the only way to stop this blatant fixing of results is to ban any sportsman for life. Simple. That day is a long way off because the different sports authorities world wide won't agree to do this, which encourages shady sportsmen and women, and their associates, to use drugs.

      Yes, right now it is so hard to catch people when they are cheating, because the things that are being taken, are one step ahead of the testing.
