How do I use Google Plus?

I read a bit about Author Rank so I wanted to make my own profile, but it's all Chinese to me (not the actual language; I just mean I don't get it at all!)

Thank you for your time and answers. smile

Google Plus helps you get author profile in search results along with your website. As the SEO is advancing , so author rank is one parameter among many of the factors one should look hard for to get their site #1 .

You may need to read tutorials about how you can get that , its damn easy.

Yes, along with the author profile you can put your photo alongside of the search results, which adds to your author's mystique. smile

I too have some doubts on it.  Anyone can provide a detailed account of the advantages of Google Plus.  How to get the tutorials? Please brief about it all.

I do not know exactly what you want... But register with google, then go to google pag (google.com), on the top right of your page, you will see "+" attached to the front of your username... Click on it, use your mail address to add all your mail contacts who are already on google... Not only that create a circus of followers and acquaintances and then make some few publications which should all be shared to your friends and circus... The more your publish and share, the more you get views and with time, your Author ranking begins to go up..

    I hope this will help.

I just launch a Google+ Page matching to my blog or website say your own hub pages. Just add the Google Plus page URL to social profiles at Hub Pages. You can post the links of your articles either on Blog, Website or Hubs to your category wise  Google + pages so as to organize your work. If you want to put an author image in search results just add the URL to contributor section on G+ and back G+ link on your articles.

Your question is a tall order to answer, but luckily I use Google + and while I was on there, I saw a great post from Guy Kawasaki who happens to be the author of the Google + book titled "What the Plus?" Google has sponsored the giveaway of a bunch of his book for free.

Here is the full copy of "What the Plus?" by Guy Kawasaki and it teaches you just about everything you can do on Google+. https://ssl.gstatic.com/s2/oz/content/WhatThePlus.pdf

Here is the link to his post about the free giveaway, hope this helps :-)

Jsut to add to the discussion, I am a regular contributor (and community moderator) on Google+. Its' an exceptionally good, rapidly growing social platform, but it really depends on a great deal of interaction. You will only get out of it what you put in.

My recommendation would be to join, look under the 'Communities' tab and search for subjects you are interested in. Then, join those communities, post interesting, relevant content and join the discussion. Google+ can also be a good place to share your hubs, so long as they add value to the community you are participating in - If they don't, they will be ignored / deleted.

If you can build up a reputation as a good contributor and sharer, followersw ill come, people wil start to trust your opinion and if you link Google+ to your author profile, that will also benefit you in search results as author rank becomes morea nd more important.

    Hope this helps.

Waiting for a Google Plus invite? Google is rolling out the service in waves and you can expect it to become a ubiquitous social option in the coming months. We have been playing with the service since getting invites yesterday and there are a lot of things to like about Google's new social initiative.

Unlike Google's last big invite-only rollout of a social initiative - Google Wave - users will not be confounded on just what the heck you are supposed to with the service when signing up for the first time. From Friendster, Friendfeed, MySpace and Facebook, users are familiar with how a social platform is theoretically supposed to look. At its core level, Plus is not that much different. Yet, there is so much more.
