Probably about 52. I tend to average one book a week. It depends on how long it is though. It took me about three weeks to read The Stand by Stephen King. When I was younger, I read a lot more and sometimes could read a 300 page book in a day.
I used to read 3-4 books a week, now I'm lucky if I average one. But I also listen to ebooks when walking my dog (about an hour a day), so, with luck, I'll average two books a week. I find listening as I walk is a great way to catch up on classics.
Growing up, prior to the internet, digital TV, recorded movies etc I would average 1 a day (medium sized paperback).
Nowadays, with all my current distractions, I would be generous saying 5 a year. Although this would be something I am willing to change
I have to confess that I read The Stand on my tablet (off-brand of an I Pad) When I am not sure how many pages I am reading I tend to read faster) I also like audio books
I'm hoping 50 or so, averaging one a week. I kept count last year and was under my goal (42) but then many of them were textbooks, so I wasn't disappointed or anything.
An intriguing question with an obtuse answer. The answer depends on what type of book, the word count etc. Non-fiction requires more effort. Authors like Tom Clancy tend to have high word counts. I also re-read books I've read before. Currently reading Dickens and this needs reading slowly to fully appreciate the prose.
A couple of years down the line, I read 500 books (surprisingly) in an year. Now I find myself fortunate if I manage to read 100 books annually.
I would say around 20, I would like to start reading more though.
A number between 25 and 40. I actually have been keeping track of the number of books since I was 14 years old! I love seeing the number add up through the year. I get an accomplished feeling for it, just a sense of personal satisfaction.
I used to barely read books at all.But enjoyed a good one when i did get around to reading. One of my all-time favorites is the Left behinds series and James Patersons Lake House!! Anyways,,, i brought a cheap kindle from http://www.paradisetreasures4u.com for like 59 dollars and in about three months i have read over 22 ebooks!!! I mean the kindle bookstore is right at your fingertips and you can also google reviews for that particular book! So to answer you question finally..i intend to read around 100 books this year!! wish me luck!!!

How many new books do you read in a year (approximately)?Do you have a to-read list or a wish list on amazon?

I have done 5 surveys and everyone says that they think 3 is average but then I find out that the real average is twice a month. So if you can answer the question that would be great, not how much you think but how much you are!

My friend just asked me and I felt weird thinking about the answers. For me, books are forms of entertainment and knowledge. What do you guys think?

If you had to choose from being able to only read books, or only write, which would it be?I don't want to leave my answer yet, because I am interested in reading what you all have to say first!

Reading books as a hobby, does it still exist?I see the empty book shops. Libraries have become a place where people can sleep peacefully. When I talk about books with friends they are clueless. Some say they don't have time to do. Some say it is for people who are jobless. I'm just wondering whether...
