Do you live in the future, present, or past?

Or maybe you are one of the few that knows how to just live in the present!  Do you live the the future, the past, or the present and where would you LIKE to spend more time?

The photo I'm attaching is a "logo" I've made for my own life--reminding me to slow down and embrace the present!

All three are very important. The past repeats itself so you can learn from previous mistakes. The present is where you need to remain awake to keep up with what goes on around you, or you'll be left in the dust. And the future must be assumed so you can focus on where you will be, what the world will become, who will still be around you, and you can prepare for what might come.

True!  I find people seem to embrace one direction more readily than the others.  It takes self-management and perspective to hold all three in balance!  Do you find you spend time in one ore than in the others?

Yes, future. Sometimes my brain has to come down to Earth...

It's highly important and beneficial to everyone (provided they care) to be aware of regrets and mistakes in the past so that they can understand what went wrong, or good, so better choices can be made for the present and future. So true it is that when anybody treats negative results as trivial that they do an injustice to themselves; history is many lessons in one but history cannot force your will to do better or worse.
Currently (as I live in the present) I have the power of choice to choose to benefit myself in a positive or negative way; The choices I make now impact my future. Learn from the past but do not live in it. I am alive and in my right mind today by the Grace of God, therefore God has mercifully given me opportunity to be a better person unto Him than I was yesterday and x-ammount of time ago. Forward and upwards: Never backwards or down.

Very well-said.  Great that you see that you are empowered today by your awareness of where you've been and where you are going!  :-)  Thanks for sharing--especially love your last sentence!

That's my default but I forget to be present to the present if I don't REALLY focus myself in the here and now.  Don't want to miss the things hidden for me right in front of me. Vision is important-and getting from here to there starts with--here!

I live today.  Yesterday is gone and you cannot do anything about it, and tomorrow has yet to be written.

I choose to live today.. in the present.

I would like to spend more time with me.  I spend all my time for others and precious little is left for the things I would like to accomplish.  The place I'd sit would be near a rippling brook, or a mighty roaring ocean..   I fear being in the water, but it also calms me--helps me find perspective.

Great insight.  I hope you make that time for you!  I can relate--it's something I've been working on for years.  One step at a time--I get better and better.  Interesting paradox about the water.  Think there is a deeper symbol--a connection?

Very good question, lately I think about the future, but I realize to have a future I would have to live happily in the present time. And most of all, do not think about the negative things of the past, unless to learn from things of the past .

i find i have gotta let the past go., only good memories i wish to bring to mind.
the others have to go.  the present is the only place we can be.  I want to wish for the future, but none of us know what is truly in store.
The present, is the best.   going back, can bring depression, going forward, anxiety,  but for now i can be in this moment smile

Yes-"being in the moment" is a great place to learn to be.  Letting go of past-that often means a journey of forgiveness and healing.  Letting go is very different from repressing because then of course one's not really let go.  So-good word choice!

If your past has given you some lessons, you can take help of those lessons to make your present more comfortable and cheerful. If  your  present is full of ambitions and happiness, the future will definitely be a better one to live up to your expectations.

Here is a old Dierker proverb: If you have one foot in the past and one foot in the future, you are pissing on the present. I think it gets the point across. Stay in the Now!
