Yes, it's absolutely important that people hear out other people's opinions, even though they disagree, because it makes one a more rounded-out, knowledgeable individual.

When the large-scale Federal Court-mandated, cross-city busing edict that took Boston by storm beginning in the mid-1970's (a storm that lasted roughly a decade...well into the 1980's.), I came in contact with parents of students who were being bused to different neighborhoods in Boston, as well as people who'd been students themselves and were bused, and got to hear a number of different viewpoints than what I'd been brought up with.  I was then able to make my own conclusions and form my own opinions of mandatory school busing, even though it differs from that of the rest of my family.

Yes it is possible for me to respectfully listen and allow other people to express their views, because i might be able to see things differently and even learn something new. The beauty of listening is the fact that you can learn something new.

Yes it helps us to understand different point of views...moreover not listening to the opinion of others just because you don't agree with them shows disrespect. Its better to listen to everyone but do whatever you want to do.

That really depends on how long they run on for.

But seriously, I can listen to someone's opinion to a point. But after a while, it's just a waste of time. And are they reciprocating by listening to your opinion?

If you listen to whatothers have to say, even when you disagree, firstly a sign that u are patient and u r open to opinions and secondly they might bring a new thing into ur understanding.

One should always listen to everyone but deep inside he should have his own opinion to which he should stick too. Sometimes even when he knows the person is wrong and he is right there are many manipulators who make his agreement to disagreement.Opinions of everybody is always welcomed but keeping in mind not to allow that person overcome you in every situation that his opinion should always matter even in the very small matters.in that way we will lose our self confidence and will not have any point if view of ours.

The whole point of listening to other options is help you figure out we're you stand. There could be a situation where you disagree but understand the situation due to someone else's opinion.

There is an invisible line to be towed which some invariably cross, be it lack of thought, someone with a strong opinion or someone under the influence of alcohol/drugs (many more could be listed).

It is very hard with strangers, I find to know what to say and not and it gives the impression of being very shy and quiet.  I do not mind this as I am these things.  It is difficult to air views as conversations in groups move too fast for me.  If tired I generally get on best with one on one interaction...that is just me though.

Respect is vital, even if one does not agree you do not need to mock the person for saying what they believe...of course in some circumstances there are some people who can upset others, they need telling as that is not good.

Listening is a tool that lacks in so many folk, this goes hand in hand with impatience.  You do very well to listen to people's stories, all people have lived and have their own story.  You learn so much talking to the right people.

I think that it is very important that you listen to the opinion of others even if you disagree. Maybe they will say something that will make you change your mind or maybe they will just make you look at things differently. I have had my mind change from listening to others. I am pretty set in my ways, but my way of thinking can be swayed.
