    Do you eat breakfast every day or do you skip it?  Is it unhealthy to skip breakfast?

    I sometimes have breakfast and sometimes skip it.  It's supposed to be unhealthy to skip breakfast but I seem to do just fine, maybe a little hungry on the days I skip.  What do you think?

    I have been a no-breakfast person for most of my life. A couple of years ago, when I decided to get more health conscious, I started making sure I ate three times a day at least. I started losing weight too, quickly. I think making sure I eat something in the morning is a big part of that.

      Hmm.. then maybe I should try eating a little breakfast more often.  I'd like to lose a few pounds myself.  Maybe I'll end up eating a little less at lunch..

    My habit has usually been to drink coffee in the morning. That generally kills my appetite until at least 10:00. Some recent health problems caused me to cut out the morning coffee, now I wake up hungry.

      I just never wake up hungry.  I have to be up a few hours and finally, like you say, around 10am I'll get hungry and have a little breakfast.

    The last study results I saw claim that breakfast is not as important as commonly thought. Who knows what the next study will say? When I'm road tripping or camping, breakfast is my favorite meal. At home, however, I rarely indulge in it.

      It sounds like skipping breakfast isn't too detrimental to you either, despite what a study might say.

    Breakfast is always something that I wanted to get into the habit of doing, but never really found the time. Research has indicated that skipping breakfast can be a detriment to your health, but I have skipped it all my life and have seen no side effects.

      The only side effect I've found when I skip breakfast is that I get a little hungry a few hours later.  I usually eat then or if I wait until lunch, then I have a great appetite for lunch.

    The old adage says: "Breakfast like a King, lunch like a Prince and dinner like a Pauper." We've always lived that way and start the day with a healthy breakfast. Sometimes I make a big batch of fresh fruit muesli that lasts for several days. Other days we enjoy eggs and wholegrain toast or homemade granola. We always make a smoothie with almond milk (homemade) raw oatmeal and several fresh fruits. Every once in a while we crave wholegrain waffles or pancakes. I think it all depends on what you're accustomed to doing.

      Your breakfasts sound yummy.  My biggest meal is typically lunch or dinner, so I do not follow the advice in your quote.  I am just not that hungry in the mornings but maybe that is because I'm not accusomted to eating a large meal then.

    I never ate breakfast while I was going to school because I never could get up early enough to have time for it. I also never had it while I wasn't going to school (like during summer break) because I would still not get up early enough to have time for it. Now, since my job is pretty lenient, I have the time to have some breakfast. Lately it's small bowl of oatmeal, a yogurt and a coffee in the morning, or whatever else I bring for myself.

    All we ever hear is that you should eat breakfast every day. I'm not sure the difference it's made in myself, but if I'm hungry in the morning I might as well eat something, or my stomach is going to keep reminding me to feed it. I know some people avoid it because of lack of time or trying to eat less to lose weight, however my weight hasn't changed from going from not having breakfast to having breakfast; I think it can definitely make you feel better, I just love to eat!

      I tend to agree ~ apparently it's so much better to always have breakfast but what if you're not hungry?  Usually the problem is I'm too busy for breakfast.  I also haven't noticed that I gain or lose much weight whether or not I have breakfast.

    I have a daily breakfast routine, because of diabetes 2.  My body reacts to not eating a health breakfast daily.  For me, it is unhealthy to skip breakfast:  I must have tea, toast and turkey sausage to function in the morning.

    I eat breakfast every morning before I go to work because I believe it is a good routine to a healthy life style. It doesn't matter if it is just toast and marmalade or cereals like porridge, cornflakes, or croissants with a cup of hot milky coffee. As long as I have something to eat it starts me off for a good day. I rarely skip it.
