Sophia is wisdom in Gnosticism and is a Greek philosophical concept. It is also their religious idea about the wisdom of God.
Sophia is also considered to be the Goddess of wisdom. Since they (Greeks) believe in the trinity, they see the Sophia as the understanding of the second person in the trinity.
Sophia means wisdom. It was said to be the reason (one of it) that the leader of the knight templar was burned. They were said to worship sophia so what is wrong in the worship of wisdom?
Philosophy comes from the Greek love - philo of wisdom - Sophia. Interesting thought that doesn't answer your question.

and then what? Every religion seems to have it's own spin on the afterlife. Speaking solely from the doctrines and teachings of your particular flavor of faith, what is going to happen to you (or someone from your denomination) when you die?I'll give my answer after a few others have...

This is just my opinion based on the research I've done. During the first four centuries gnostic Christianity posed a serious threat to the orthodoox sect. But due in part to the strong institutional orientation of the orthodox, and the elitism of the gnostics, gnosticism was virtually subverted to...
