Do you hate to do household chores?

I had been household chores since I got married, 20 years already! Do you dread to get up in the morning just to do the household chores that you repeated every day?

Always hated it because I had to work forty hours someplace else.  If I had times when I could stay home I wasn't as distressed by things getting behind. My husband never helped with even picking up after himself until a few years ago when he was laid off I left it for him. Now he helps out more often. He still tends to put most of it on me and I often work more hours away from the house than he does. He also knows I'm trying to be a writer which demands some time.

that is bad. Mine doesn't even do a single housework for me. He just sits on the sofa ask for his meal, his tea, his coffee and off to read newspaper. At least yours is helping. Where do you work 40 hours?

I'm an egg grader at a local poultry farm. Some days are longer than others. We work until every egg rolls through. These are mostly eight hour days, but sometimes more.

I don't do daily housework like I should. But my husband has been very helpful since he retired so between the two of us things get done.

No, I don't hate any of it. I have to admit it bores me so when that happens, I will do something else like draw or write.  Housework can wait--it won't do anywhere.

I noticed that most US hubbies are very helpful and thoughtful towards their wives. Wish that Asian hubbies have the same positive behavior. Sigh!!

What is there to hate household chores? Even though we repeat the same work daily I have never felt it a boring job. It is these works that make me enthusiastic in the mornings.
Every one in my house help me with these works. So I have always  found it very easy. Always try to include every member of your house to work together in such household works. This will automatically create a kind of discipline and a feeling of responsibilty in each one of them.

you sure is lucky to have everyone in the family to help you with the chores. I would not feel boring or hateful towards the chores if someone could help even one chore. My family members are lazy bums.

"Chore", by definition, means "an unpleasant or burdensome task". I must be a masochist to love household chores or, for that matter, any chores.

Sometimes I dread doing housework, but I really can't say I hate it. I'm more enthusiastic about it on some days than others. Some mornings I am n the mood to get up and clean the house from top to bottom, and it makes me happy seeing the house after it is all sparkling clean.

Other days I just do what needs to be done, and put the rest off. I've learned that if I can't get motivated to do chores, then they will not get done as well or as fast. So I wash the dishes, run the laundry and make sure the food is cooked.

I guess I have a 30/70 chore split with my husband. He works, I stay at home, so I think it's fair. he helps a lot with our daughter, so that makes up the chores. He does take out the trash and soda cans, puts his laundry in the hamper, dishes in the sink, feeds the dogs, wipes up messes as they happen, etc. Which helps! And he does all the maintenance and repair work on the house, trucks, and lawn. I handle the decorative stuff. I think that balance keeps either of us from really hating our chores.

As i said, all of you are DAMN lucky to have a loving, helpful, thoughtful hubby. Why my hubby cannot negotiate on this sharing house chore issue? He is just damn stubborn !

I don't hate it because I have been doing it for so long it has become apart of me.  It bores me at times but I can't help it, I have to see the place clean and tidy.  I might lapse for a day or so but after that I just continue where I left off.

yeah me too. I sweep, mop, wash the dishes, cook, put the clothes in washing machine, hand them, keep, them, fold them, water the garden everyday. If i lapse one day of sweeping, i would not miss the 2nd day.

I share the workload with my wife. Sometimes I cook, wash dishes, do maintenance work, etc. I like to reduce some burden of the house chores for her. It is a matter of working together to keep the house in shape.

I personally love doing household chores. It might just look like I don't because by the ime I get home after working 8am - 5pm and being stuck in traffic for 1 hour, I am pretty tired. I rather be a housewife doing house hold chores all day long everyday. Taking care of my husband and home. I love it.

yeah, can be very tiring and annoying to see the house in a mess after a day work in the office and stuck in the traffic. I like to do house hold chores but would appreciate if family members could help a bit. Unfortunately, no.

Peachpurple... my wife used to spend a lot of time doing household chores. I hate it, so I told her not to become a slave to the house. We buy food from the shops most days, and we have an Indonesian woman to clean the house once a week.

I don't hate household chores but I share it with my husband. I do gardening, cooking, cleaning, washing and sometimes the dishes. My husband does the maintenance work for the house, do the washing up, do the food shopping and sometimes I ask him to do hoovering. That way the household chores is shared.

lucky you! No wonder you don't hate house chores! I dread to wake up in the morning doing them because if i don't, my hubby would accuse me of being lazy as a pig and not fit to be a wife. He said this is a woman's job, not man.

I am not being funny peachpurple but household chores should be shared that way we, women wouldn't get stressed doing it all. I think sometimes some men think that household chores are for women only. It is not, and responsibilities should be shared.
