Have you and your love in this life or, at the time, ever actually had/have an "our song"?
"Our song" was by Elvin Bishop, "Fooled Around And Fell In Love", which is and oldie but goodie for sure. However, although the song sings about "must have been through about a million girls", my husband did not have that lovely experience, as we met when he was 16 and I was 17. I was wondering how many other couples actually had an "our song" and, if so, I would love to hear what it is or was. Thanks for answering.
No. We never really focused on one. My husband just told me to pick what I wanted for our wedding. Now we just have favorite songs together, but none that are ours.
I appreciate the answer. Well our song was not a planned thing, nor was used in our wedding or anything, he just played it everytime there was a jukebox around---back then.
"You're My Home" by Billy Joel. It wasn't one of his biggest hits but it suited my soldier and me perfectly. "I need you in my house cause you're my home." It wasn't our song at our wedding. We grew into it and danced to it at our daughter's wedding.
Hi Kathleen, thanks for answering. Oh, I love that song, and it does sound perfect for you and your soldier! Blessings.
When Alan Jackson first aired his song "Living on Love" on the radio, my husband said it was our song. But Deana Carter's song Strawberry Wine told our story better and I think of that hot summer of '73 every time I hear it. Young love is special and if you can keep it young as time goes on there's a chance it will last until you're old.
Hi Diana Lee, thanks for answering! I agree completely about keeping it young to last until we are old. Great songs there.
Yes, the song, "The Prayer" which has been song by many but we especially love it by Andrea Bocelli and Josh Groban. I walked down the aisle toward him at our wedding to strains of this song being played by my best friend on her violin. This song helped us get through a lot when we were dating, between health issues on both sides and family issues. It will always be special to us.
Hi Karen, appreciate the answer. Oh, that is a lovely song, especially to help get through trials in this life . . . together. Blessings.
Our song was "Someone Like You" by Van Morrison.
I think anyone who has had some challenges in the love arena can easily relate to a song like this when they finally "get it right".
Hi dashingscorpio, oh, how cool and so true! Thanks for answering.
Yes, our song was "After All" by Al Jarreau. I still reminiesce when I hear it.
Hi Janshares,
Thanks for answering! That is a wonderful song. Blessings.
Yes! I don't remember the actual title or the artist, but I remember I was a freshman in high school and it was my girlfriend-at-the-time's favorite song, so she thought it was worthy of the title "our song".
Hello KFusha, I appreciate you answering the question. I know I am the world's worst at remembering titles and artist's names.
I have never fallen in love. But the feelings of love in songs, poems etc. are kept in my heart forever to which I can express in my hubs.
Hello AUPADHYAY, thanks for answering. Yes, I get a lot of my inspiration from songs. Music does fill one's heart with joy. Blessings.
