      A lot of people need to be right at all costs. There seems to be the highest price for that. And, oddly, aren't they the ones claiming that they are also "loving" everyone? Now, what's love got to do with it?

      Because its a trick (and poorly phrased) question.
      Nobody wants peace at ANY cost.
      We could kill everyone on the planet and have peace because nobody is around to fight.
      We could put everyone in 5'x5' cells. If everyone cant get to each other they cant fight.
      Even the semi-realistic options arent an option. 90% tax rate, draft everyone 16-65, outlaw all media and disagreement to not cause dissenting and argumentitive discussion.
      
      Peace isnt even defined. Is it war, fights, disagreement? Let alone you also toss in the concept of love.
      
      Give us something to work with here.

         Peace was not "defined" because peace to me is all of it's definitions, takes up the whole being of your life, look them up if you wish. What do you define peace to be? Just an absence of war?
         
         The questions are straight forward. If your answer is just yes or no, great.
         One can think a little deeper and search.
         
         Doing away with everything and everyone does not bring peace or love.
         If that is an option to you, it is not to me.
         
         So what do you require for peace, love?
         
         Do you need truth too?

      So just no killing is all you require right?
      What about false peace? It gives the appearance of peace, but it is an illusion right? And it cost a great deal, only to disappoint us.
      
      What about love at any cost?
      
      Do love and peace involve truth first?
      
      If no truth is obtained, how can we have peace and love?
      Would that not just be love and peace in a soup of lies?

               There is more than one definition. For example, there is world peace - no wars anywhere; there is domestic peace - all household members respect each other and work at it; there is inner peace - a peace that comes from God.
               
               World peace may be gotten by one nation becoming enslaved by another and not fighting back. So yes, there is "peace" but at the price of being a slave.
               
               Domestic peace can be had for a similar price in some situations - not worth it then either.
               
               Inner peace - I'll leave that one up to each individual.

   There will only be peace on this earth when humans have eradicated themselves, which we are well on the way to doing. I just hope that we leave enough of an eco-system for at least some form of life to survive, even if that is some obscure plant. I dont think that war is our worry, we have to worry more about our negative effects on the bottom of the food chain.

         Well there is a first time for everything. Im not just speaking for myself though am I? For as long as there are countries selling weapons, there will be people dying. Both the USA and the UK are massive exporters of weapons, and then they pretend to be the saviours of the world when they have to sort out the shit.

         Of course not. I do not want to eradicate anybody. I just believe that there will always be wars between human societies, and you cannot show me a single period of history which suggests otherwise. Whilst I can show you that humans have been killing each other since long before the extinction of the neanderthal man. My comment is clearly common sense.

               Believing that war will always exist does not make me suicidal. And suicide is actually a very sensitive subject with me, so I would appreciate it if we could end this conversation now, please dont make me appeal to your so called 'Christian' nature. You woulc actually be advocating something that goes against your own so called beliefs.

                  I do not advocate killing ones self, I was just asking you to look at your own logic and take it to a conclusion.
                  
                  Telling us that everyone needs to die for peace to exist is not common sense at all or you would be the first one to practice it. But you do not really believe in that and you showed it when asked.

                     Please note that I was actually trying to convey my opinion that there will never be complete peace amongst the human race, like there never has been. If I was given a personal option between living in a world of instability and violence, or being dead, I would choose the world of instability and violence. Perhaps you can appreciate that as an athiest, this is my only life, and I intend to cherish it. In fact contrary to your perception of my last statement, I would use violence to protect my life.
                     
                     What about truth? I believe that there will always be dishonesty too. My personal opinion is that dishonesty is a trait that every human displays - some more prevelant and frequently than others. As for love, same applies. You cannot love everybody, but when you do love somebody it is something to treasure; and something worth protecting with honesty.
                     
                     That is my 2 pence, for what its worth.

                 I do not advocate anything,   but has anyone thought about how we would have ran out of standing room, not to mention agricultural areas. People would be standing all over our farmlands if it were not for the deaths that all of these wars caused.Those people living and having babies and those babies growing up and having babies and grand babies and on and on... There isn't enough room in the universe (exag.) to hold all the people if we did not have death. Death is a good thing when it isn't your turn. And it will some day be your turn.  Does it really matter how it comes, when it is your turn????????
            Life is balance, life on one end of the pole and life coming out the other end.

   Okay having a hard time getting my mind around this but trying.
   It is impossible to answer a question with such large boundaries for me.There is a difference if I am talking about personal peace, situational peace, keeping peace etc. In The case of personal peace (which would be peace with in me) I guess the only way to do that would to be true and honest with myself. In doing that I may come into conflict with my situational peace. If a see a wrong being done that is blatant ( and I am able to affect) then I would have to forsake my situational peace to keep my personal internal peace.
