   Focus on that dream that never came to fruition. How old would you like to be able to make this dream a reality in your new life?

   In hindsight it is easy to say that we should have done things differently.  In that time, however, there were so many people, events, issues, and situations that influenced us.  Sometimes, we have little or only some control over these.  If living my life over, I hope that I will be wiser, trust less, and exercise better judgement.  Yes, there are a couple of things I very much would want to change!

      This is a good, general answer. Perhaps you felt the question was too personal to give a specific? For myself, I'd like to be eight years old on my way to becoming a great figure skater.

   I would not have married my first husband. After we were married, he coerced me to drop out of college and start a family before I was ready. I would have stayed in college and faced the problems I was running away from because I just jumped out of the frying pan into the fire. I was 18 years old and starting my sophomore year. I went one more semester before dropping out and didn't return to college until after my oldest son received his degree.
   To your second question, obviously, 18. In retrospect, I might choose different parents, too, because mine had just been through the Great Depression and didn't understand the new society after WWII. My father was very proud of me, but until her dying day, my mother resented the life I made for myself after my divorce. She didn't understand the feminist movement at all.

      A very honest answer, MizBejabbers. We women DO have a lot to offer. While mothering is important, solutions to societal problems with the unique feminine creativity are also important. Family support can make or break budding character.

      Well, I just wasn't ready to be a mother, and it showed in my parenting of my kids. I let the ex know that his selfishness had messed up 4 lives. I would have been a better mother if we had waited until after college to have children.
