If love is blind, why do we believe in love at first sight
Love is only blind for the immature and those lacking relationship experience. The vast majority of us learn that there is an "infatuation phase" at the beginning of new relationships. This is not to be confused with love.
People who subscribe to the "love is blind" belief also believe "you can't help who you fall in love with." In other words we're all helpless.
The truth is each of us (chooses) our own friends, lovers, and spouse. We get to (choose) who we exchange our contact information with, spend time with, kiss, and have sex with. We have to say "yes" quite a few times before we become an item with someone.
It's a little disingenuous to turn around after things fall apart and say; "You can't help who you fall in love with. The heart wants what it wants." This can only happen if one chooses to ignore red flags (hoping) for the best or has a low self-esteem. If you love yourself you are not going to spend much time with toxic people.
(Never separate your mind from your heart when making relationship decisions. The purpose of the mind is to protect the heart.)
"Never love anyone who treats you like you're ordinary."
- Oscar Wilde
Good question. I guess love is blind and we are not. Love recognizes all and we recognize one?
Love is blind it does not show you the real person you have fallen in love with but outside of that person.

Speaking only for myself here. I can't see inside other people's minds, so I don't if it's the same for them. When a person tells me about God and Jesus and the whole nine yards, my first natural inclination is that there is no real truth in it. This non-belief just occurs naturally without any...

Is there such a thing as love at first sight? In the media and in 'real' life I hear about people getting married after only months of dating and hear phrases being thrown around like "as soon as I saw them I knew". Do you believe in this, or if this has been your experience I would love...

Do you tell your friends "I love you"?Is it all the time, occasionally, rarely or never? Or do you reserve this only for your significant other?
