What is HubPage's rationale in not offering an RSS feed of our Hubs?
The use of RSS feeds had a tendency to provide unrelated links or links to low quality websites. Both cases caused Google to lower the ranking on the hubs using RSS feeds that resulted in poor choices.
So in February 2013 HubPages phased out the capsules for RSS Feeds to provide a better overall reader experience.
See HP's blog: http://blog.hubpages.com/2012/12/phasin … s-capsule/
Thanks so much for the reply! My concern was more for a feed of our Hubs which can use elsewhere, rather than the ability to add an RSS feed to a Hub.
I misunderstood your question Richard. HP once had that too but it also was removed. RSS feeds are not used much anymore for the reasons I mentioned above. Same reasoning applies on both sides of the issue. Your profile lists all your hubs anyway.
Yes, I agree with Richard. That is what I use RSS feeds for.
Do people really use RSS feeds any more? So many feed reader services have died off. I just don't think that's how people follow their favorite sites any more.
I use them for pages on Facebook, on my own sites at the very least.
The other problem with RSS feeds is that they create multiple links to the same domain and HubPages wants/does limit links to 2 per domain. They must also consider that the reverse will be detrimental if they gave hubs an RSS feed i.e it makes it too easy to add multiple links back to HubPages.
I understood what you meant Richard, and I too like to provide a feed of the latest articles from the sites where I write on my blogs, for example on my Blogger one I have a lot of these in the sidebar and it works well.
I can understand the point about removing the RSS Capsule to avoid low quality content on the site, but it's really handy to be able to provide details of our latest hubs on other sites.
I wonder if it's permitted or not to create your own RSS Feeds? I have done this for Bubblews and Persona Paper and they work nicely.

I'm trying to understand RSS feeds. I think the capsule is a reader that aggreates feeds from other websites, but I'm not sure

I am wondering about a new strategy i am trying. What I am doing is putting an RSS Feed into my best performing (Viewed) hubs with my latest (not indexed by Google) yet hubs. IS this a good way to have them "crawled"? Or is it better to add links instead so each hub stands alone?

Hi I recently received a warning, which I did not understand, but which, it turned out, actually referred to links to my own hubs ~ unrelated ones. I eventually sorted it out.I wondered why RSS feeds to our latest / best / hottest hubs were supplied, if we couldn't use them. Then I was told that we...

For people who never use RSS feeds for any reason, I reckon it would be worth giving them the option of disabling the feature.RSS feeds make it too easy for content to be stolen.

Hey Staff,Please get your moderation team on the same page. I am beginning to get PISSED OFF at their incompetence.Last time I checked, RSS Feeds are allowed to be ON hubs and must be relevant to the HUB.I am getting sick and tired of moderators telling me to DELETE specific links inside RSS Feeds,...

Hi guys,Anyone knows how to do that? What I only know is that there is a link for hot and latest feeds but not fr individual hubs.Any ideas?
