If you had it to do over again, would you have children?
Some people think having kids is great, others not so much. What are YOUR thoughts?
nope, now that I am in mid forties, I don't want to go through the pain
Refreshingly honest answer!
I suspect many folks who have children can't imagine the life they would have had without them. It's also not "politically correct" to outwardly admit one may have had a happier life without children.
I'd have kids again. But I think it absolutely isn't for everybody. Also it's daft that people can't admit to being happier without kids etc.
Yes I was considering! I have two at present, but recently, around two weeks ago, I was 9 weeks pregnant, unfortunately I had to have an emergency operation as I had an ectopic pregnancy, this one was not normal as i was bleeding too much that it nearly cost me my life, however, I am grateful to be alive, to stay with my two beauties I have at present, but the answer to this question will be No, as i cannot afford to go through the process again, which they also had to remove one of my tubes, although it is possible to be pregnant with one tube, i would not be risking that again.
I will give the rare answer. If I were pushed back in time with no way of getting the exact kids I have now, no I would not have children. Mostly because I have seen how unpredictable life is and I simply think my children shouldn't have to deal with seeing their mom suffer, or have to see me in and out of the hospital. Also I have seen how quickly money can be drained by illnesses. Children deserve to be in a home that offers them financial security. Lastly children are a lot of work normally, but even more work when suffering a chronic illness. The responsible thing to do, is not do it all over again considering my health.
Now, if I had a guarantee that I would have the EXACT children I WOULD have to do it again because I love them, who they are, and who I know they will become. That would be 100% selfish of me, but they are awesome!
Yes, in an instant! Although my pregnancies were miserable and parenting is tough, there is nothing that has brought me greater joy in this world than being a parent!
I never had a desire to have children.
I've come to realize it was the best decision I made in my life!
I believe people who don't want children shouldn't have them.
I also would have a tough time observing and dealing with the inevitable heartaches and tough lessons every child goes through.
Lastly no one wants to believe they'd have a "special needs" child but it happens periodically. With a healthy child it's been stated it takes approximately $300k to raise from infant to adulthood. I imagine it would be much more expensive taking care of special needs children.
I've known people though who believe one of the purposes of having children is to have someone to take care of them during their old age.
However if you visit any nursing home you'll discover most of the residents have adult children! There is no guarantee a child would or could take care of their elderly and possibly ill parents.
That's a selfish reason to have them anyway.
I couldn't agree more! I do believe that those of us who have worked with children on a professional level are more likely not to want any.
Mr. Dashing is right on as usual. There are PLLENTY of persons in nursing homes who have children. Some have MANY children. My maternal grandmother was in a nursing home & she had 5 children at the time who weren't working & lived nearby!Go f
