   Would you love a man that gave you the choice of marrying him or else he would set you on fire? Why?
   
   This is what free will looks like to an atheist - Worship "god" forever, or burn in hell forever - your choice, I give you "free will" - so go ahead and choose.

   But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him."

   Obviously, the short answer is no.
   I'd like to point out a lot of people have been frightened into believing because of verses like this.  I'm interested in knowing how you would handle such a situation.  What if someone died and discovered too late this is true?

   You nailed it on the spot.  God gave you Free Will to either believe in him or not.  As for my answer the answer would be yes.  I would rather live for eternity in joy and happiness than pain and suffering.
   
   You have to look at this question in the eyes of a Christian or let's just pretend you are for the minute or two that it takes you to read this.
   
   I am assuming that you know what the ten commandments are from the intelligent and thought-provoking questions you ask.
   
   Now think back in your life.  Have you broken at least one of them?  If not, then you are a one-in-a-kind person.  I am sure that most adults broke at least one of them.  I know I have broken several. 
   
   Let's say that you broke only one commandment.  Would that get you wondering if you were going to go to hell?  Then what if you found out that all you had to do was ask for forgiveness and believe God and Jesus?

      Nope, I dont believe in hell, nor do I believe that a godfather would send his "children" to hell for eternity for breaking his rules, knowing all the while that they would break them.

      Leon, does that also apply to those who go out and say slaughter people in a church? Do they just have to genuinely ask for forgiveness and believe/love Jesus and God in order to not go to hell?

   Lol I was not going to answer this question because I thought it was a trick question.  But after reading you state it has nothing to do with religion at all.
   
   My answer would be no.  If a person threatened me to burn me if I  didn't marry him.  I would marry him but not love him.  I would do all I could to get away from him unless if he had me chained up.  And I would even try to do this before I get married.  Then go in hiding and get a new identity.  I knew somebody who had to go on the witness protection program because her boyfriend was a psycho and threatened to kill her.
   
   I know of some people who do fall in love a guy like this.  One great book is Perfect Victim:  The True Story of the Girl in the Box by Carla Norton and Christine McGuire.  The woman is abducted by a man who kept her tie up, blindfolded and in a box for something like 6-7 years.  He abused her physically and mentally and she still felt love towards him.

      It's called the Stockholm syndrome. Isnt it wweird how some people actually fall in love with their captors after having spent some time under their authoritative control? They even defend their actions!

   No one who has self-esteem, self-awareness, & intelligence would marry an abusive person.  To do so is the height of insanity, not to mention masochism.  Respectful & intelligent person want people who treat them w/ the utmost of respect & dignity or they won't enter the relationship.    Only people with little or no self-esteem or with masochistic tendencies would marry/enter into a relationship with abusive people. 
   
   No one who has a high consciousness level would worship a supposed deity who indicates that either one worships him/her/iit or burn forever.  That deity is a childish deity who hasn't evolved.  However, many childish people feel that God is such on the basis of religious books written by people with such a childish, vindicative mindset & consciousness.  They transfer to a deity their warped psychological make-up which they use to inculcate the more gullible, less educated masses to exercise their authority with the sole purpose of CONTROLLING them, making them powerless emotionally, mentally, psychologically, & even psychically.

      This ties right in with the version of Christianity given to the Native Americans!
      A Baha'i who read the Sugar Version of my book said it lacked a spiritual approach. If you do things because God says so, God can make you do anything, incl murder.

      But it isn't really a god making you do things, it is the faulty beliefs that religion employs that make you "do things" or not "do things". We really need to rewrite the outdated notion of "gods".
