Why in the world are people protesting at Trump rallies?

What is the point?  He's not going to quit.  What do they hope to gain?  If they don't like him, why not just vote against him?  If things keep going the way they are going, and get worse, something much more terrible than a Trump administration may occur.  Or is that what they want?

As a GOPer struggling to support Trump, I can say that these protests only help him.  Nixon got elected in 1968 in large part due to the average American's reaction to mass protests, particular at the Dem Convention that year.
I have a feeling many of these "protesters" are just like the anarchists that we have up here in Seattle. People who don't even vote. Why not just wait until November and vote against him?  Doesn't that make more sense? When did free speech mean hurling debris at police officers. The left has a weird definition of free speech. No debates on college campuses. But if I don't like you, I'm rioting out in the street.  Does anyone else find that bizarre?

If these folks don't like Trump, then maybe he's not so bad? At least that's what I see happening.

I agree with you about the Left.
They created the PC generation, and protesting is their child.
It used to be speak softly&carry a big stick, but they have changed it to Speak Gibberish&carry a big PC

Intelligent, targeted, decisive protests can puncture the sense of legitimacy, but these protesters believe that peaceful resistance is futile. And not just Trump rallies, Bernie Sanders supporters are throwing chairs and punches are also happening.

When you take away the air of legitimacy that voter's choices don't matter then all you have left is violence.

      Hard to deny that analysis.

Liberals have labeled their views good and love, alternative views hate and evil.
So anyone who opposes official liberal viewpoints is racist, sexist, - phobic.
And when you tell your base that the leader of the opposition is evil incarnate, Valdemort or Sauron, of course people will protest. He's compared, unfairly, to Hitler.
The irony is that liberals ignore the fact that it was the socialism in national socialism that is so bad, not the nationalism. No one cares about Puerto Rican or Scottish nationalists - they don't hurt anyone. Socialists around the world readily engage in violence to maintain the influence of powerful unions, impoverish the average people (Venezuela and Argentina today, USSR and China under Mao).
