    Hi Hubbers,

I'd like some help with passing the Quality Assessment Process. Will you please give feedback on my article Easy Eco-Friendly Changes You Should Make. What can I do to improve? Thanks!

Hi Global-Chica, you have a good article but there are a couple of suggestions I would like to make. Your title, for one thing, is directing the readers to make a choice by telling them what to do. That is an approach that reflects the writer assumes to know better than the reader and can cause some readers to say - hey, does she think I don't already know? Why "should" I do this? Hence, I would suggest something that takes the reader along with the writer, not the writer leading the reader. For instance, " Simple Eco-Friendly Changes for a Healthier Life and Planet" or "Easy Eco-Friendly Choices we Can All Make". Hope this helps. Thank you for writing an important article. We all need to be mindful of the world we inhabit.

Neat, I appreciate your feedback.  I agree about the title and have changed it

I like the facts and the suggestions that you've shared. I'm pretty certain that the problem is with the links. I definitely think the Amazon capsule should be deleted because it's advertising a product that you haven't mentioned or reviewed in your article. I also think that the row of red links to the companies looks a bit strange. The companies could be mentioned without the links. It would probably be easy for readers to find the websites if they wanted to.

Great suggestions, Alicia! I've removed the links to green companies and moved the amazon capsule to the end of the article

There's no point moving the Amazon capsule. That will make no difference. The best way to use Amazon in a hub is to use an in-text link, while discussing why the product is necessary and why you recommend it. It has to be natural, and read as if you use it all the time.

    Just gone through the article.

You have provided a rich information that is useful in tackling the problem.

But, as mentioned already by Alicia, the red links appear to be spammy and over-promoting. You may need to remove them and provide the links in plain-text form so that any interested visitor can log in to those pages in separate windows.

Further, I think some sentences are complex and confusing. For example, the first paragraph under the subheading "reduce your use of toxic products".

The second sentence "Products such as detergents... and paint include toxins..." is very confusing and ambiguous. You can rewrite it.

Same paragraph last sentence "... which depletes the supply of oxygen in oceans, in turn,...". You may substitute "in turn" with "thereby".

Please see any other complex sentences and simplify them. This is as per my thinking. I don't know whether I am good at it or not.

Thanks so much!  You're right - I re-read the paragraph and it was  rather confusing indeed and I've re-worded it.  Have a fantastic day!

It's a very good article. I can see that this is an edit to your existing article. I had this experience and when I removed the Amazon capsule, it passed. You need to provide a personal description of your use of the product if you want Amazon links to pass. Try removing the links to products and see what happens.

Sorry, I just want to add this. Maybe a tweak of the title to make it more specific...eco-changes to make in your shopping or your household?

As a new Hubber, I recently followed the advice to remove Amazon links, along with other useful suggestions and the article got through.

I used to write for a UK site and I can tell you that the bar on HP is set way higher to get articles published.  But then I guess the quality of what I'm reading on HP speaks for itself.  I really don't think it should take much for your article to get through.
