Amazon Sale - WooHoo!

   I got my first amazon sale yesterday in over a year!  I earned 79 cents!  Yee haw!  At least I know now they haven't shut down my account!  It's wacky that I'm excited over a few cents but there you have it.

         I misspoke a bit - I got a bunch of sales right off the bat when I first started writing.  Then the Amazon links for the articles earning the money were cut and the few that I had left in other articles didn't earn anything.  So it's been over a year since I had an Amazon sale but it's still nice to know they haven't closed my account.

            Going to be honest with you, I had very very low Amazon sales, like maybe one every 6 months I was about ready to give up on it... This past week and a half I at least earned enough to go Run & Tell my husband that I earned something... LOL

                  No, I did absolutely nothing... I think it's hubpages switching things up a little bit because I'm telling you, I was lucky to make $2 a year from Amazon... I don't know what they've done or changed, but I hope they don't ever change it again I'm finally feeling like writing maybe be worth doing and write more articles finally

      No matter how little, it's always nice to see some earnings.  In the right situations, Amazon can bring in some pretty good money, so keep trying.

         My content is just not generally product related so I rarely have an article that I can incorporate a product into that I have personal experience with so it's hard.  Short of books and once in a while something cooking related there aren't really any other items that would be relevant.   I really envy those people who are able to do this and are making a nice amount from it.

            It's not difficult. It's a matter of incorporating your recommendation naturally in the text, like this:

            (whatever, choose one of their recommendations, which probably aligns with one of your suggestions anyway).
            
            Download the free sample offered on Kindle and find a quote that fits. Their book is also available on Kindle Unlimited if you have it -- very useful for book recommendations.
            
            You can take this approach to almost anything. Just think 'natural'.

               Sadly though this is peak season for me. It all goes away for at least 7 months out of the year. But May-Sept...raking it in. Saturday's payout exceeded $1500.00. Best ever!

                  Wow, nice. My last payout briefly missed the 1k mark. One more day in the month would have done it. But August is already a low for me, lucky you that swimming pools go a few more months when compared to tomatoes haha. Nice stats on Amazon, never made that much on Amazon here on HP.

            This month was my best ever with Amazon, but as I said before, writing articles that include items people need but cannot easily buy at the store is one of the big secrets.  You write about maintaining, cleaning and caring for swimming pools...it's a shoo in with that topic! So many things you need when  you have one.

            eBay program, I never really liked that one. Was never good for my niche here. Made 15 bucks one day which was my most ever, the other days it was mostly pennies.

               Wasn't around yet for the eBay program.  Would like to see some new ways of earning here.  It would be nice if there was a contest or two every so often that you could win prize money for.  I suggested this for the Mother's Day like contests - I only remember Mother's Day, Father's Day and Valentine's Day though there was no Father's Day one this year.  I thought something like first place $50 second place $25 and third place $10 with three honorable mentions for $5 apiece.  That would just mean a total of $100 laid out by HP but six different people actually winning would ultimately increase the number of articles overall by a lot more than that.  It was just a thought.  I know with a chance to win even a small amount of money I would have likely written several different articles.

               One day I made over nine hundred dollars commission from ebay sales. About a week later my stats were showing negative seven hundred dollars.
               
               I was very mystified about it all. I did not see the minus sign in front of the seven hundred, and so, my first thought was that I'd somehow made seven hundred in addition to the prior nine hundred.
               
               But what seems to have happened was someone purchased 3 nice and expensive guitars. They had said to themselves, 'I'm going to like one of these much more than the other two, and then the decision will be final, and I'll return the other two.'
               
               LOL@Me. Well, I made two hundred bucks one day from ebay, but in the end the experience still wound up being negative in my mind.

                  Oops.  It probably would have been great if they'd just bought the one guitar and you saw the $200 added.  Regardless of still making $200 when you thought you made $900 I guess it was a disappointment when you saw the -700.  But still $200 is a nice bonus.

                     I probably should have thought to mention that was the only ebay sale I recall ever making. Also, I wasn't very good at doing articles well then. So it wasn't likely ebay's fault. I wish we could still add an ebay item now.

      Yes I agree.  If you have a niche that people will need help with in terms of advice or how to fix something I think you are much more likely to be able to add a link and possibly make a sale.  I just keep hoping that they'll see the link and think "Hey, I've been meaning to get a . . . from Amazon" and click it then buy whatever they wanted even though it's not the product I recommended.  But so far I guess it's not happening.
