The Renaming of Columbus Day

   States such as Maine, Vermont, Alaska, & South Dakota are renaming Columbus Day, Indigenous People's Day.   Your thoughts?

         Can we also get an "old white geezer" day?  You know - for the old white men that spent a lifetime working to support themselves while paying taxes to support others as well, only to find themselves now demonized as "privileged" to dig ditches, hang sheetrock and build cars?

               Only if the old geezers (retired) get paid, too.  After all, that's who it's for!  Maybe a day's pay for a Senator, sent to each of those being honored for actually doing something to build the country?

      I am not a person who celebrate any one day over another. If I had my fathers I would like to forget this nation was taken away from "The Natives of this Land" and eliminate any celebration relative to this nation's founding and establishment. I would include in the eliminatings Easter and Christmas, Christmas because it is a lie since there is no scriptural reference to anything concerning the one called Christ relating to it. Easter because if the Resurrection of the Christ happened during that season it should have Evergreen Trees for it's symbol rather than eggs and rabbits which are fertility symbols.
      
      If I could I would shorten the work week to 28 hours (3 and a half eight-hour days) per shift per week. That would give more work to more people who want to work while allowing an equal amount of leisure time per week.

      Columbus was one of the greatest men in world history. The Founding Fathers called themselves 'Columbians' not Americans. Maybe we should also rename the District of Columbia, not to mention Columbus, Ohio, the Columbia River, and Columbia University. We can rename them after the Aztecs, who not only owned five million slaves, whom they treated with utter cruelty, they also had a little festival in which they cut the beating hearts out of 80,000 human beings in four days. Their butchers worked in shifts, four at a time, round the clock, on convex killing tables, so efficiently that they could kill fourteen victims a minute!

         I'm nor about renaming, IT WHAT IT IS, so since I don't celebrate days it doesn't matter to me, as you can see, and you make sense, James, if that is true about the Aztecs.

   Columbus discovered West indies. The natives told him they were not Indians. Columbus reply, yeahhh,  your Indians.
   
   Columbus, for the list of discoveries in North America. He was the first to start North America's piracy, slavery, gold rush, christainity, and European causing genocide. 
   
   I could lower my head for the greatest genocide in human history. Yet, again, I'm happier to not regret anything in the pass.
   
   So, don't sign me up.
