Why do people worship satan? Or perform witchcraft?

    I'm just curious.
What do they gain? And people that perform spells/witchcraft,  what do they gain?

I know someone who does witchcraft. She has rejected Christianity. I know when she's mad at someone she sends little curses their way, but nothing really harsh. I think what she gains is that this is a new area of study and experimentation for her. It's esoteric knowledge. I am a Christian, so I am not into satan worship at all.

The Wiccan that I know of is more about nature and holistic living.

Satan is not so bad, he believes in Yahweh, I don't.

I know that it is hard for people to believe in God when there is so much suffering in the world.

I have talked about this before so I'm not going to comment much more about it right now.

It really is up to each individual to make their own choice when they want to believe in God or not.

We can all agree that as humans we have free will we are not robots not yet anyway!

Maybe in the future the rich people of the world in the elites will create people into robots.

Maybe with enough changing of DNA or altering of the humans body they could.

I mean after all there are a lot of scientific Geniuses and computer Geniuses in the world today and there's always been leaders who want to dominate others and totally put them in slavery.

As humans we have to make choices and we have to ask for wisdom.

I believe that only the true God who I believe in and give his people wisdom just like Solomon asked for wisdom and they said he was the wisest King that ever lived.

We have to learn from history because history repeats itself.

Freedom to choose is key. Everyone is their own person. I think of yin and yang because there are different types of people. Everyone goes by their own study and experience. Perhaps some don't believe in anything but want to try out Satanism/Witchcraft. If someone truly knows & believes in Satan, I cannot understand why they would want to follow him. If someone does not believe in Christianity, they may not believe that witchcraft is bad.

No one knows Satan any more than they know God.  Which means that Satanists may very well have a very different opinion on what that entity is like - after all the vast majority of opinion comes from his detractors.

I agree. Different concepts of what God and Satan are exist. We shouldn’t assume that people have the same concept that we have (if the terms are actually meaningful to us).

I think people worship Satan because they want to have ultimate freedom and they think by doing it that they will get it.

Allow themselves to be deceived and these people that worship Satan or worship themselves instead of God will end up in eternal hell.

I am specifically speaking of people that want to be like Hitler that want to enslave others and want to rule the world by enslaving other human beings.

They think that they are going to be all-powerful but they don't realize that Satan lies all the time and he's the father of liars / lies.

But I will say that I think people worship Satan because they want to have power they think they will have power and to an extent they will because God favored satan . At one time Satan was Lucifer. Lucifer was one of the angels in heaven.

But because of Pride he took 1/3 of the angels to hell with him when he rebelled against God and he obviously didn't win because God has the power.

God had a plan and he allowed Satan and his demons to tempt humans.

            Why?
God wanted to create humans with free will.
            And did.
God allows Satan to tempt us.
Part of God's plan to further along our free will . In other words not only do we have free will, but it is enhanced by choosing good or evil in other words God or the devil.

If we choose God and have a relationship with him, not only will will we be wise in this life , we will have eternal life in the next life....

If we don't use God and therefore we choose Satan/ourselves....

We will render Eternal misery along with being fools in this life.

I have heard in the Bible it says the truth will set you free . And there is such a thing as truth.

Let's hope and pray many more find it.

I respect you. Just speaking out loud

Never have I seen a greater divide  than today in the US. Nationalism is like the new religion and the Government is called God. It's the completion of a religions way of thinking that says that some groups of humans, such as ethnic groups, should be free to rule themselves, especially to the exclusion or detriment of the interests of other nations. Even Canada keeps bragging they are the best nation & place in the world.

Everything has something opposite to it and that was the reason why Satan was perceived by many as an evil power sitting opposite to God. So, some guys like to tame him to get their work done or to have influence on others - could be one reason why they woo it.

      Yeah. They do. I'm aware.
But their error / delusion IS they think he won't hurt THEM.
      he causes DEPRESSION.

      Among other things.

Also, they have no power OVER him.
Only what he allows but they ALWAYS LOSE.
      1) they lose their soul if unrepentant
      2) he fools them and hurts them

He has less power than God.
      And you cannot tame him.

If people choose to use his power they may enjoy it for awhile
But longterm they are being stupid.

And messing with fire is ignorant.

Satan dose not exist in my life, so he has no influential effects though out my life.
You once said I was lawless, I do have two simple rules. Be honest and don't harm. Satan can't honestly harm me, only my mind can do that. Since I love my work for most waking hours of my life plus a dozen love ones that surrounds me, life is upon a bliss. Maximum happiness, minimum suffering. Satan is not required for enteral torture of senseless lessons, because I'm fearless.

I've been friends with many religious Satanists, and equally as many wiccans/pagans, and I'd have to say they do it for the same reason most people worship, "God."

They lack any other foundational beliefs, and settled for one school of thought; although, in wicca/paganism I've found that those people at least try to have some sort of objective grasp of the physical world and how it came to be/functions. Weirdest thing about them is their dream-sharing, and use of Ouija boards to commune with the universe; funny enough, this practice was banned on military bases during Sunday worship due to strange occurrences during wicca/pagan services.

Whereas the Satanists I know prefer to think their, "God," is some sort of savior just like Christians believe a subversive demagogue from the Middle East is their savior, rather than basing their beliefs in empirical data. Either way, both, "Gods," swear to bring about the end of the world at some point, causing most-everyone to suffer for not worshipping them like an abusive partner controls their spouse, and they are most accurately called two heads of the same coin.

However, after attending a few Satanic-themed, cult-like adult parties, I'd say confidently that many Satanists are just atheists who need attention from others to feel valid in their existence; that attention can be good, or it can come in the form of rebuke from their less-tolerant rivals in other religions. Either way, the religious practice itself is equally-worthy of disdain.

It's scary to watch people immerse in a belief system rigidly, no matter the belief system, but even scarier are those who seem to fit into every single system like some sort of chameleon changing its colors to fit its environment. This is why I study religion, though, as it has taught me much about the deceptive nature of the game of power.

I ramble, but nice idea for a post, it got me thinking.

Ultimately, what others choose to believe is something happening within their own personal space, and since no two persons can occupy the same space, I don't get affected by their beliefs, only my own.

I honestly don't care what the world is up to, because I have no control over it. It's like choosing a movie to watch -- I can see the tragic side of the world, or a comic, or insane, or genius, beautiful or ugly.. whatever, it's all available out there to see, the whole repertoire.

Satan or Angels, this or that deity, medicine or self-healing...it's ours to choose, to live consciously, not brainwashed by this or that manipulative authority., no matter what they call themselves and what they are worshiping. .
Above all is personal freedom to choose -- our thoughts, emotions, attitudes, to be reactive or proactive. Because no one else is called upon to do our breathing for us, no one is called upon to choose for us.

Life is beautiful and divine -- if we make it so. .
