Here are two Christmas poems by Brenda. The first one, "Poem: Christmas Day Memories" depicts a girl's past about fond memories of Christmas time with her family. The second poem, "Poem: Little Sally's Christmas Wish" is about a little girl wishing to Santa that her mother be well one day who is suffering from a terminal illness. Here are the links to those poems:

Times like Christmas we tend to make memories...
But it should be all year long.

It's sad when one is ill or passes away near Christmas.

I know a little boy only 11 yrs old who lost his only surviving caregiver to Covid-19.

      My heart breaks for him.

Yes, I agree with you, Brenda. It's simply heart-breaking.

His grandmother who had custody passed away from Cancer.

His step grandfather agreed to continuing raising him.

He even retired early so he could be home with him.

He beat prostrate cancer & was in remission.

Then he passes away from Covid-19.

In between this time, he tried to reunite the boy with his natural mother...but she decided drugs were more important.

          She overdosed.

I'm not really sure where those ideas came from...I guess a combination of feelings as I watch so many little ones fend for themselves.

Take care & enjoy your Christmas.

    Thanks for posting everyone's work.

It's disheartening to see a little girl doing so many chores when her mother cannot be around because of her terminal illness. Great idea on this one but very sad. I am glad when you portray pragmatic scenarios from real life.

You too take care, Brenda and may your Christmas be full of joy and good spirits.

The importance of memories and not gifts is stressed in your poetry, Brenda. I like that and enjoyed reading your poems. Merry Christmas!

Thank you for posting Brenda's article, Rosina.

Memories last a lifetime, where as gifts only exist for a short time.

I'm glad you found that message.

Thank you so much for reading & enjoying.

I hope your Christmas was as nice as you are.

Gifts are nice, but time with those you love means more...
At least when your older & wiser.

Lovely Christmas poems, Bredz. I enjoyed reading them. I especially loved the Poem: 'Little Sally's Christmas Wish'. It was so touching. I, too, would like to write a letter to Santa some day. Maybe next Christmas. I have a lot of wishes, and I wonder if they can come true.  smile

Rosina, thank you so much for sharing the links to Brenda's hubs and for posting this discussion. smile

Both of Brenda's Christmas poems made for excellent reading.  The simple joys of Christmas and a little girl getting her wish from Santa in that last poem was heartfelt.  Thanks for sharing them with us Rosina.
