      This is beyond ridiculous, not to mention taxing. Daily we see plagiarism in group form. Has it affected our income? I don't know. Income is down and has been since HP partnered with Maven and Maven sold to/partnered with Arena. I think the pot is too big, securities are too low, and the opportunity for plagiarism is too great.
      
      Time for some changes, I think. Time to re-address the worthiness of posting here. Time and effort are valuable, as is (most of) the information dedicated HP writers provide to the public. When you factor in the time it takes to search for the entities to which DMCA reports should be filed, filing the DMCAs, versus the time it takes to research, write, attribute, and post our articles, not to mention the minimal and sometimes negligible return, it is worth it?????
      
      I'm about to the point where I'm done with posting on HP. I have a little over a year before I can fully retire and return to freelancing. Working for clients who pay real money is much more attractive and profitable than going thru this bullshit on an almost-daily basis.

      I have filed DMCA complaints with Contabo and they just ignore them.  I'm finding that's not unusual.  The list of my plagiarized articles is ridiculously long becuase hosting companies are refusing to take down pages that violate our copyrights.

         Most of my copied list is random smoosh unreadable garbage that I don't even bother with. It will simply get replaced with a different foreign site anyway. It does make it harder to see when a new one pops up though. I'm currently sitting with 23 violations over 8 articles, most I can't do anything about. It would be nice if we could check a little box or delete the notification for those that we will not be able to DMCA.
         
         I have one on docshare that I've been trying to get removed for the last two years and every time I try to send a DMCA I get told the email cannot be sent. When I try to flag the doc I never hear back and it's still up. It has been downloaded 45 times and viewed over 600. You don't have to download it to copy and use it, nor do you need to be a registered user to read it. So frustrating. I've had success with other articles there, I'm not sure why I can't do it for this particular one.
         
         I focus my attention on the ones that were clearly stolen by education sites or document sharing sites, because they usually rank well depending on the insitution and people need to do their own homework/research. I have had an easier time reporting to Google, but that doesn't take the copywrite content down which is what I would prefer.
         
         I know most copywrite material does not rank well in the SERPS, but does anyone know if having too many copy's of the same material effects our ranking? Do we get penalized in any way for people stealing our work? I noticed two of my article's lost the snippet after Eugene mentioned it in another post. One still doesn't show up number one even if I type the exact title into the search. They both currently have 6 violations per HP, but I'm sure there are many more. I went through FB and took down a bunch about a month ago for both of these articles. They are on different niche sites, so I didn't think it had to do with a niche site ranking dropping.

   After adding about 15 URLs to a notification of infringement, I got fed up. Is there an easier way of doing this?

   And it's not just DenGarden, LevelSkip has been getting plagiarized too, I've got tons of notifications of copies for my game reviews that are over there.

   I gave up a long time ago. I don't file DMCAs anymore and I just ignore notifications from HP that an article may have been stolen. I haven't written anything in a couple of years after I had a stroke, and all this doesn't give me any incentive to write for HP again. Since Maven took over, I'm getting more royalties on my old stuff than I ever made with HP alone anyway.
