You know why I think my hubs on Obama bother so many of you so much?  I think it is because you want to believe so badly that what is happening is not happening.

It is a scary thing but you can't just look right past it to give you comfort in the belief that what happens to other countries couldn't happen to us here.

Fear tactic?  You think I would use fear as a way of getting you to see something that is there but you are ignoring it?  I am not talking about an invisible god.

Some people, believe it or not actually do strap bombs to themselves and blow people up along with themselves and they wear smiles on their face the whole time.

That is pretty crazy to me. There are not any checks and balances anymore in the system.  It's like a free-for-all will only cost a few lives is okay type of mentality some people have.

Christians have not been the greatest example either.  They did things just as crazy just not willing to kill themselves over it.

Yet we know it happened and you are seeing it happen again.  I didn't want to believe that it could be a religious war but it is.

So believing that you guys don't understand what your doing. You don't understand the reality you helped create.  It really is not just my reality.  I definitely, one hundred percent understand this but do you really understand this?

So please stop calling me a racist, stop calling me a hater and a liar.  Thanks.

I think your a great writer Sandra

I know I dont comment much but i dont always agree with a lot of the things you say.

I know I stay out of the religious forums, at least I stay out of participating.

However I never thought of you as a racist

Like I said I do disagree with lots you say but no I dont see you as a racist

    Keep up the good writing.

different people have different ideas, so do not worry about how others think. write what you feel right...

Write about what you know and are passionate about, and remember too, that the more controversial a topic the more readership it will gain. Your hubs are fine, dont worry about individuals different likes and dislikes, we are all different and all have different opinions.

Hey, Sandra.  I've met real racists, and you know what?  You don't qualify!

As to what's happening in the country, you happen to have it right.  And if you think you're getting nasty-labeled (which I'm sure you are), you're certainly in good company--such as Sarah Palin and Parker Griffith (the Alabama Congressman who just left the Democratic party to become a Republican).

I'm willing to bet Gandhi got called a few names in his day, too. big_smile

I have lived beside a few racists and you are NOTHING like they are..I enjoy your writing..It is written on hemp, our declaration of independence from England and our Constitution of the United States of American that YOU are entitled to free speech..I take this very seriously, post your thoughts, feelings, ideas and knowledge on whatever topic that suits you..it is your RIGHT!

and simply ignore, I know it is hard, those who call you a "racist"

I disagree with a lot you say but everyone is entitled to their opinion and it's Theirs. Racists are also entitled to their opinion as skewed as it may be, so if you were, that's your right.

I have met face to face and lived with racists, and you hold no traits of one.  There's a lot of personal bashing happening around here at the moment, which is not what I like.  However, everyone has their opinion -- including you and the others.

You're a great writer and don't let this get you off track.

Sandra you are not a racist, he should not have called you that.  Your hubs on Obama do not bother me, but I do not agree with your points either.  I do not like you were called names, and I have been called every name in the book the last couple of days.  Some guy even called me a precious c word.

  15. habee profile image93
    habeeposted 14 years ago

Nope, UW, I've personally been called a racist for disagreeing with the POTUS. Well, in all honestly, I wasn't exactly called racist. I was asked if I disagreed with one of his policies just because he's black. So I guess my "racism" was questioned.

I pretty much agree, Tantrum, though I will admit there are a few folks here in the Deep South who don't like the fact that we have a black man in office. These are the same ignorami who also hate Michael Steele just because he's black, even though they AGREE with every one of his positions! Crazy, huh?

everyone is entitled to their opinions and beliefs. some are more vocal than others, even in this OP post sandra, you belittle others for their beliefs. not everyone believes as you, and you need to accept that, it doesn't make anyone right or wrong.

I hope everyone can enjoy a peaceful, happy holiday season.  smile

Yes from the one who got her own friend ATexan banned.  Don't think I don't know it was you who got us banned then turned to ATexan on his hub about being banned and said I did it.

I have never requested to ban anyone on HP, not even RK.  wink You don't like me?  That doesn't bother me.  Making stuff up about me, that bothers me.

I'm a new hubber here so I try to stay out of threads that seem a bit personal. But I have to say this place is more like a social soapbox forum than a writing forum.

I've been surprised at the personal, sexy, religious and other topics on here. Most people here seem nice but I thought everyone was here to write??

Yes Bill, that's the purpose of the site!  However several months ago, they changed the layout of the forums and it happened to place more emphasis on the "social" threads.  We now seem to have a lot of people with very little interest in writing and more interest in arguing with each other on the forums.

If you concentrate on the writing-related threads on the forums, you'll find a completely different atmosphere.

Sandra, I don't think you're a racist, but I just had a look at your Obama Hubs and I can see why that accusation has been levelled at you.

Those Hubs are written in a hysterical manner - you sound like an uneducated redneck, which I'm you're not.  Perhaps it would be worth revisiting them and ensuring they're written in a calm, reasoned manner.  That might make a difference to the reaction.

If your going to post be prepared for the not so nice remarks regarding your subject matter.  I was taught that it is ill mannered to talk of politics and religion in a mixed setting.

In all probability you're being tagged a racist, because the man hasn't been in office a full twelve months and all he gets is grief.  I really wished he had let all the corporations fail, leave healthcare in the nightmarish state that it's in and literally let America go to hell then the naysayers would really have something to whine about.

During the eight years Bush was in office nary a peep was heard regarding his decisions or in-decision making. He and his cabinet were well aware of the economic issues during his 2nd term and he did nothing to deter it.  So what's your resolution to the matter, let all the lending institutions fail and suffer the worse unemployment since beyond the depression?  Why not more solutions and less criticism?

Everyone is in such a rush to judge Obama and all he's doing is cleaning up the disaster left by the last administration.  To some critizing so quickly could very well be seen as racism. As for those who claim you're far from being a racist;  I doubt if they've lived one day in my black skin, so therefore have no opinion.

Racism is not always balant, it rears it's ugly head through off handed comments, jokes and unwarranted criticism.  Some don't even realize they're racist, especially the young who live in an era where balant racism is almost non existent and know nothing of the indignities suffered by minorites long ago. You are privileged to live in a country where you can voice your opinion, but don't forget the rest of us have that right too.
