Everywhere you turn, it seems like one celebrity after the next is cheating on their spouse. America's golf hero and overall good boy, Tiger Woods. LeAnn Rimes, American as apple pie, female country music icon. Jon Gosselin, father of 8 children and star of Jon and Kate Plus 8 on TLC. David Boreanaz, star of the hit show Bones.

This list seriously goes on and on but what I am wondering is how it impacts our relationships and marriages. It seems so commonplace now, is it just becoming acceptable behavior? Is this normal now? My parents have been together since they were 13 and now they are both happy together in their 60's.

Also Websites like Ashlee Madison and Sugar Daddie make me want to vomit. Ashlee Madison caters to married men and women that want to have relationships on the side and Sugar Daddie is for money hungry people, pretty self explanatory.

Sorry to rant, I am just bothered by this and I am wondering if other people feel the same way. What the hell is our society coming to?

But, as for your question...Celebrity scandels do nothing to damage marriage for others. It is others who need to pay closer attention to their own relationships and nevermind what happens in others. What happens in others doesn't mean it's going to happen to theirs.

And, to think it would have any affect/effect on someone else's marriage is insanity. As for will hurt the statistics of marriage....it's irrelevant, because most of them re-marry in a short enough span where it really doesn't matter.

    Thank you. smile

Honestly I am sick of hearing about Tiger Woods and all of his celebrity girlfriends.  This is between him and his wife really.  His philandering has nothing to do with anyone else's marriage, period.  I think one of the big problems is that people still believe marriage is this perfect institution, when clearly it is not.  The cheating simply used to be more behind close doors, but with our society being more open this is just in the forefront a bit more.
