Now to you Northernors (and those around the globe that have mucho snow!)...even those in Dallas big_smile (PDH). That may be no big deal...but down here...especially this early (Dec. 4)...our winter is barely starting!  The drivers will freak...the ground is soppin' wet...(so mucho ice!)...and our pipes don't like freezin' weather for long durations...like the freeze thats coming! The snow isn't sticking yet...but it is a flurry out there...and the temps dropping.

Envy? You have never seen Texans drive in this kind of weather. Its probably safer in Afghanistan!

lol  As a displaced Montanan living in southeastern Arizona, I have to say:  Tex got it right!  We got snow on the 23rd, business and schools all shut down.  No kidding.  The amount never exceeded one half inch and was gone by 11 a.m.  Didn't matter! lol

Me...I'm a summer person. I've done snow. it is beautiful...and the kids will have a ball (Great for them!)...But...I prefer to go visit the snow...myself...it is better in its natural place...the Mountains! Where you can ski on it! This town just lost it...just from them hearing the word snow! big_smile

I just won't drive for a few months. Stay indoors with a nice cuppa or a glass of red wine. Thick homemade vegetable soup.

Your snow storm (or its cousin) are apparently making its way to Massachusetts for tonight.  I'm not too thrilled about it either.  mad  We had almost 70 degrees the day before yesterday.  I was thrilled about that.  Yesterday we had a beautiful, sunny, day (which I was happy about) but it was cold (which I wasn't at all happy about).  mad  Now - snow!!!  I've been dragging my bloody, giant, hanging begonia plants and geraniums in and out of the house each night since October.  I'm considering doing euthanasia on them, and giving up on trying to hang onto the illusion of decent weather.  I'm sick of it.    lol

That's funny...I'm in Canada and we haven't had any accumulation of snow yet smile

I know Lisa, I just got out the snow shovel, window scrapers, rock salt and all the other winter stuff. Most of the Cape should get rain, but I live near the Cape Cod Canal at the beginnning, and we often get snow with the rest of you.

Don't get rid of the begonias. There so beautiful. But I know the feeling, I finished getting the garden ready for winter too yesterday.

Well lets put it this way... whatever snow comes down in your neck of the woods I here in Canada do not have to shovel. I live in the country and somehow the wind seems to drag every bit of snow from snowpiles around  and depositing them right into my drive way. So for once I rejoice in other having all the pleasures and me missing out. (sorry)  Is it spring yet?

How long does snow last when it happens there?

Here in Canada, snow lasts all Winter, which is awful.

We have the Snowy Mountains in Australia and it is a very popular place to go for the skiing, which I can't do anymore.
Another place to go would be Thredbo, great snow country there too. I haven't been to Canada or even America, but I would love to go there one day just to see what the snow is like there and I don't know if I ever will, but it does look wonderful over there with all the snow covering everything.Texas must be pretty cold at the moment, Laura's soup sounds like a good idea to me., for all you very cold texans.  Keep warm till next time guys BB
