   How much traffic would I expect to receive from search engines?  What is an average percentage of traffic coming from search engines?

         Mine is at 60% I do not know if that is average or above but with your comment I guess it is somewhat above average as we both joined around the same time and almost the same amount of hubs.

            I don't know, thing is, I don't really care much about revenue, I don't care much about linking and I make no real effort to do so, so I don't really count. I'm here to write first, earn second.

               I can respect that and I agree with you I was checking to see how many of my Twitter friends were responding to my tweets and I saw the Pie chart in analytics and was just a little surprised that people would be finding my hubs on search engines.

   It increases with time. In your first few months, most of your traffic will come from other Hubbers and from any sites where you've posted links.  Gradually, you'll start to get more and more search engine traffic.  Over 90% of my traffic is from search engines now and I believe that's fairly normal for established Hubs.

   Lots of diversity here. Like others have said it seems like search engine traffic comes with time unless you write about really cheap topics that will get you a lot of cheap traffic.  Can you translate all that cheapness into revenue? Probably.  But I mostly just plug along and write what I find interesting and what I hope others will also. 
   
   The first month probably less than %5 of my traffic was from search engines mainly Google.com now almost 3 months later search engine traffic, again mainly Google.com has gone up probably to  10%
   
   I can't believe some people were only on here for 3 weeks and they are getting 60% of their traffic from search engines! Maybe I should use some cleavage in my pics or pepper my language with boobs and boners. I just don't think I can do it, it's not really my style.

   the search engine doesnt really index "cleavage"
   
   But if you are critical in your choice of title and keyword and do some very rudimentary backlinks you can see your hub in google in as little as 6 hours, you can easily see 60-80% of your traffic coming from search by the end of teh first week of publishing
   
   "Boobs and Boners" is a very hard niche to crack, ranking for a sex related term is an almost impossible battle..in your first weeks or months it may seem as if sex is selling hubs and attracting traffic but as most of that traffic would only see the picture associated w/ your hubs...it is most likely internal and therefore not a valuable or difficult stream to get

      The last hub I wrote and backlinked is still not indexed.  The backlinks are, but the article can only be found where it shows up in the sidebar on other's hubs.
      
      Any suggestions?
      
      As to search engine traffic, 65-80% comes from them, depending on how much writing I have been doing.

         truthfully, i would say just be patient, its not a race.
         
         Now,if it was my hub and I checked over what people were searching for and I considered my synonyms..I may look at the term "goals for children"
         
         I only skimmed over the hub but it seemed as if "realize dreams" could be "achieve goals"
         
         The search volume and ad offers are significantly different between the two..also "realize dreams" is more likely to attract searchers looking for nocturnal dreams, while a goal is always a goal
         
         Great writing though, it will be found, and more backlinks never hurt anyone

      Thanks Sunforged for deflecting my urge to write about boobs and boners. Ha. I have backlinked a little at reddit.com but still doesn't seem to do much. I'm hoping  time will recognize my work, and as I mentioned somewhere else, I'm still aiming for my own website.

   A quick look and Google.com sits proudly at number 1 on my traffic list with over 6 times the page views of the next referrer.
   
   For some reason I do very badly with yahoo which is way down the list.

   Around 50% of my traffic is via google and yahoo. But thats because i am too lazy to back link my hubs. But for the first 2 months i did crazy amount of backlinking and they still drive a decent amount of traffic.

   75% from search engines and "other" (non Hub Pages) sources.  Not massively high traffic though - usually about 50 hits a day.  I really need to get serious about this backlinking thing.

       I really should do more to my facebook stuff. I signed up with them because of HP but then did not log in there for months. Just recently I got curious and logged in and had like no friends etc. I decided to try and make a friend or two and it has actually brought some traffic. I don't know how profitable facebook traffic is but in theory any traffic should have a positive effect on a hubs potential even if its an indirect benefit.

    I barely get any traffic from sites like Google or Yahoo. Maybe 5-10 on a good day. Most of my traffic comes from posting on forums.

          The bad news is forum traffic converts poorly.  The good news is that it's early days, as you build more hubs and strengthen your internet presence you will see more search engine traffic, and more profits!

    This whole traffic thing seems to be pointless to me. I have around 130 hits to my hubs, yet both of my affiliates say I have zero hits. One used to say I had 6 impressions whatever that means, and now it says I have zero again.
    
    I also googled my username just to see what that would accomplish, and I came up at the top of the list with 4 pages of results. Some of which was from my activity at Youtube.
    
    But on a daily basis I'm lucky to have around 10 to 20 hits. And, today I only have 1! And my traffic is really dropping!
