I actually wrote up a nice hub on this topic. We aren't allowed to post links in the forums, but I can tell you that it's in my profile if you want more details.
The gist of it is to write quality hubs, only follow hubbers you have a real interest in, create unique content (not duplicates that can be found elsewhere), and spend some time in the forums.
Well it seems duplicate content is the culprit here. if you would have read the TOS you would know that you get heavily penalized for dupicate content.
Just to make my self clear I said duplicate. I am not accusing you of stealing someones elses work but I checked several of your hubs and each one came back with duplicate content.
people who try and get away with it end up with the type of score you are dealing with.
I suggest you go back and fix the hubs with duplicate content and from now on take more time to write original content
Dale
To elaborate a bit more on what Dale said ... even if you own the content elsewhere it's seen as duplicate content if you copy the material and place it here.
Your best bet? If you own the material, totally rewrite it as a new article to place it here ... OR (and this is a really cool idea) write a unique hub RELATED to your other article then put a link in your hub to your other article - or visa-versa.
Read this entire page,
http://hubpages.com/faq/
It will be very helpful to you.
It was clarified long ago
although, this specific link would have been more helpful and less daunting http://hubpages.com/faq/#hubscore
write some more hubs and get some back links , read livewithrichard hubs he'll get ya on the right path
Send me $5000 by western union, and I will increase your hubscore
if we are bidding I can do it for 3989.72 USD, and I'll accept it through paypal. Misha thanks for the Spinner link, it works pretty cool, might just work for this application.
Participate & open your profile only once in a day (never open hubs keep a copy of them offline) except 'My Accounts Tab'.
I am unable to do that what I'm writing here, that's why I never reached upper than 85 score.
words can express how dumbfounded I am by this obnoxiously absurd advice
why bother answering something you do not know the answer to?
Why can't you open your own hubs? How would you improve and edit them without opening? And how would you respond to comments??
I'm in my own hubs all the time - like an obsessive narcissist (but really just to shine them up).
you can review as many a time offline & whenever you want to edit, you can go to 'my accounts tab' & can click on edit option.
This will also protect your adsense account from getting false impressions.
& I think hubpages staff's algorithm of deciding hubscore may be,
I know but I cant disclose my views.
Sorry\
@sunforged
Congratulations, for getting 500 followers/fans.
Can I use this "What?" pics on in my article? I just fall in love with it.
OMG! That is just sooooooooo incredibly FUNNY!
Itech, take a look at my Hubber score. I open my own Hubs all the time. Does that punch a hole in your argument?
He-he. I thought it might have been I just did not understand what he was saying, so I stayed away LOL
I should have used a quote box, was responding to post before mine. (will fix)
Maybe just on to much coffee, but there really is a lot of really bad and unfounded advice rolling around today
I meant that one, too. It is so ridiculous I just was not sure I understood
write more quality hubs, especially write on topics of your specialty.
don't duplicate
participate on forums, that is what i have been doing, and my hub score has been increasing.
my view
Thanks to Sunforged and Marisa - I had a little panic attack there.
BTW - how does Adsense / HP weed out the times you open hubs yourself from the true numbers?
uhh! thats nonsense, nobody cares if you visit your own hubs. The goal is to have so many visitors the dozen or so times you visit are inconsequential
but if they did care, everyone can track you by your Ip address in the server logs
mishkas a bit naughty
and if you watch this youtube video of the kransky sisters, if you dont suddenly increase your hub score, you might get a bit of a giggle.

and if you dont like that one, try this one...

write about something that interest you... interest your friends and family.... once you start its not hard, just do it from your point of view.. I never knew I would write about love and relationships until i joined Hubpages........be amazed what you can write about when you put your mind, and fingers to it..
try writing interesting hubs that tend to get traffic and also attention from other hubbers.Once you have published few good hubs, the hubscore might increase.
Having duplicate content keeps your score down, it isn't original.
Your pics are the same and it doesn't represent what you are writing about.
Whew... thanks for that. But its definitely not going to be on HP.
I saw your comment and I want to say more grease to your elbow.
I've been searching the forums for this somewhere in a Q&A so I appreciate you posting. My author rating just keeps sinking lower and lower and I don't know why. It's very frustrating.
I'm guessing you're using articles that you've already published elsewhere? Duplicate content, even if it's your own work, is heavily penalized on HubPages. Hubs must be original and unique.
The truth is you must be a Christian, but then again you must also be a republican and most of all express enough hate for Obama.
You're confusing Hubs with the forums. The forums are a place for Hubbers to chat. You will get some traffic through the forums, but only from other Hubbers. That may get you some comments and be good for the ego, but it's outside traffic that will really help your HubScore and your earnings.
1. create interesting and informative hubs
2. take part in forums
3. post wherever you can
4. get traffic to your hub by choosing good topics
5. get ppl to comment on your hub
guess that should help
I have discovered my problem: I open my profile several times a day.

I got like 10 posts stuck in the mid 70's that I want to get to 80 so I can submit them to networks. What are some surefire ways to increase your score without changing everything? I use the same format on two hubs with similar subjects and one gets 93 and the other gets 77...so frustrating.

My hub scores range from 65 to 87 as of the last time I looked. My average is 73. To me it seems like I have a "C" average. I'm disappointed and discouraged. I am doing everything that is recommend to get a good score. It is disheartening not to get a feedback. For...
