The other day my mate was telling of this hilarious site he had found called the flying spaghetti monster. So I go and check it out.(not going to name it just google it)

Now I'm not a heavily religious person(but shall we say my choice of name for the creator is irrelevant in this post) and was quite amused by the clever use of parody. However upon reading more and more of the comments, I got to wondering if there are some folk who have actually taken it seriously as a religion. It worries me that there is a lack of dircetion in some individuals lives.

Do they not have some sort of faith in their belief system?

    What do you think?

Please dont be offended if I dont reply in the post as it is just an opinions post.

For myself - it has given my life direction  and meaning to know that when I die I will go to heaven and live forever where there is a beer volcano and stripper factory.

Life would not be worth living without this knowledge.

And I do not appreciate your suggestion that this is not a serious religion. It is at least as likely as all the other so called "serious" religions - only without the fighting and wars and holier-than-thou rules that only apply to other people.

Only one rule. No gods before me. Which is interpreted to mean - serve pasta before any main course.

Many people take me seriously, and with good reason.
The church of the FSM is a lot more honest than any other religion, and entirely worthy of worship.

There is no lack of direction in the life of my devotees.
they know exactly where to go to join in my pasta feasts, and to take part in the celebrations at the stripper factory and the beer volcano.

Pastafarianism is the most honest religion in existence.

And even you, Dale Nelson, unbeliever and scoffer, are welcome to dine at my table of  Plenty.

How many strippers would you like me to save for you?

      RAmen.

There is always some people who seem to fall for certain things, which to most of us appear bizarre. How it happens is so hard to fathom out but it does.

A man will make a god for himself either out of the things visible or of the things invisible.

Since atheist reject all visible and invisible evidence of the one true invisible God they can only make for themselves.
Now they have a god that they can manipulate and can be interchanged between the visible and invisible.

The holy FSM has a mention in a book I am reading "Good Without God" by Greg Epstein.

Problem with FSM is that lack of scriptures. I mean how can followers answer to skeptical queries by posting lines from scriptures ?

I mean skeptical people ask question then followers reply something like:

2:50:300 Luke said "----------------". And hence point is valid.

How FSM followers are going to skip skeptical inquiry without scripture lines ?

    Hi All,

I didn,t realise that there were so many followers who are really serious about their chosen pastafarian ways and I must apologise if I have offended any and the FSM.

I do understand that religion is like opinion and that everyone is entitled to their own until they have more information. So good luck to all the pastafarians out there and yes thanks happy to dine at the same table.

I suppose freedom to choose is the best trait that we humans have.
