I am new here and the Hubpages Review staff are picking on me

   I can see a lot of hubs on the same subject that I am writing about and they haven't been flagged as adult content. There are hubs on sex and male enlargement, so why is mine being flagged, at first I was flagged for overly promotion and I fixed that, now another flag for adult content??? COMMON! I know I'm new here but this just seems ridiculous like I'm being picked on. Why is my Hub being singled out and the first time it was flagged why didn't it get flag for adult content? Something is not right and I hate feeling like the time I spent writing it is wasted. I was really hoping to be a part of this community but this just feels like Squidoo and it's new censorship policy.

         You miss the point Mark, who are to judge what I choose to write about? Yes! I have a genuine interest in helping...what about the numerous hubs on subjects more controversial or sexual? They're all live.

      my grandma always say, you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar, so in your case be sweet with the team,ask the team to explain what content in your hub is not acceptable and revise it,make all the changes that they require and you will be fine

      It may just be bad luck, Sara - the HubPages team is a small one and can't be everywhere at once.  Sometimes they miss "illegal" Hubs for quite some time, other times they pick them up immediately. 
      
      Just remember that the rules are not set by HubPages.  We all depend for our income on Adsense.   If any Hubs break Adsense rules, it puts the whole site's earnings in jeopardy.
      
      Unfortunately Adsense is not only a prude, but a dumb robotic prude. People who write serious Hubs about sexual matters fall foul of the rules because of the words used - whereas saucy pictures of semi-clad women are allowed.  I'm sure the HubPages team think the rules are as stupid as we do, but they have to safeguard our livelihood. Be thankful for that!

         Before my hub was suspended, it was published and there was google adsense on it. I have a blogger blog with google adsense on the subject, so I know it's not google's policy. I think it's just bad luck and who ever reviewed my hub used their discretion but I really don't believe I broke any rules with the content.

   Why don't you email the Hubpages team and ask them what they view the problem as and then when they tell you change your Hub to fit the rules?

   I'm not exactly sure what on your Hub is being flagged.
   
   If it was flagged for not being original content or duplicate work is available somewhere else, then that's the reason it was flagged.
   
   As for the adult content? This depends on what mature content you're trying to put on?
   
   Adsense forbids it's ads on any mature rated content. So, the Hubs that you do see on certain things, there is a difference between writing about a topic or being pornography.
   
   That fine line is demonstrated throughout ALL my photo Hubs. Each of my photo hubs are okay by the standard of HubPages. These hubs are not adult content or even mature, because each of them have clothes on.
   
   I hope I helped.
   
   Btw- if you're really want to push the boundaries- check out my demonstration of sensuality or erotica. It's a hub about an intimate friendship that has a tender touch.

   I just did that but I had to vent here a bit because I wrote my first Hub 2 days ago and I was so excited but now the excitement is gone, I had so many ideas but can't bring myself to write because not sure if it'll be a waste of my time.

      If you're writing about things that violate HP's ToS then yes, it will be a waste of time.
      
      Because others have managed to slip through the cracks doesn't mean that it's okay for you to publish something against site rules.
      
      I imagine that the other violations will eventually get caught and also dealt with if they run afoul of the ToS.

   Sometimes, a hub will be removed for one reason, and then upon resubmission, we notice something else.  In this case, your hub was overly promotional for too many links, and adult because of the product you were promoting.
   
   You are always free to contact us and ask for more information if you are unsure why your hub has been moderated.
   
   If you see other hubs that you believe violate our terms of use, please feel free to flag them.

      were you writing a hub about penis enlargement?
      
      was it platonically written, or was it written in a porn way?
      
      I'm sure there shouldn't be a problem if the hub was done in a platonic way - there are just no porn hubs allowed.
      
      If your hub was done in a medical or self help sort of way, I don't see why there would be a problem, as I'm sure breast re-sizing hubs would be allowed.
      
      The business is allowed to make it's rules against porn, but if you are seeing an unfair discrimination, that's when you have a case.
      
      Otherwise, there's no case. Unfortunately, as things are changing, there are still many unaccepted things out there which are "unfair" gender wise - I've run into them myself.
      
      Good luck with creating a non porn hub dealing with that subject.

    It would almost sound as though you want to be singled out.  Rewrite the hub, or change the subject matter, but keep writing, or else quit.  Your post sounds like you want to quit, so make your mind up and do it, there are a lot of things to write about, and we really do have fun here.

       Would you say the Indians were successful in there perseverance?Encouraging new writers is not as prevalent as it should be.Painting a rosy picture is just as negative as the caustic comments made in the forums.The Implication of the comment is to write on with the awareness that success is not guaranteed........Hmmmmmmmm.

    didn't say i wanted to see it stay published,  lol I just want to see what the big deal is, I have seen some pretty risque hubs and more than my share of hubs that had about 25 words and a link to some BS scam but I like to see what is out there and what to be watching for. I flag them when I find them, I had 2 of my hubs flagged for over promotional and my hubs are more informative than promotional, I am not selling anything or asking anyone to sign up anywhere and I have very few affiliate links to anything other adsense and amazon

       Funny thing is, the hub that began all this does not have an affiliate product in it any longer, I took it out because now all I care about is just having it shown. It's not the greatest hub in the world but it was my very first hub and that's why it's important to me. Am not sure if that makes any sense.

I personally don't believe in penis enlargement, never needed it, the thing hangs to my knees already...LMAO I also don't really believe in all of the health food crap out there either but I don't see the ones who promote it being judged...honestly if the hub is spam or too promotional then it should be fixed but I don't think we should be judging without seeing it.

       I am waiting for the revision, hopefully it will happen later today and I already have two hubs waiting for approval before going live, I am writing one of them right now and I have been a member for only 3 days, so if all my hubs are approved today, I should have 3 live hubs up before the end of the day.
