Who uses youtube videos for traffic?

   I just made my first youtube video. It's just a slideshow but I got a new camcorder yesterday. Since I have a tourist website I'll be making videos of Disney and the other theme parks here in Orlando.
   
   I have my URL both in the beginning and end of the video. Does anyone else make youtube videos to get traffic? If so would you mind sharing your tips on what to do to get the most traffic?
   
   I see you can post a video as a response for another, which will help. Also getting friends on there that share your niche is a good idea. Any other ideas? Thanks!

   I place a link in the video description, then at the end of the video have a picture with a bit of writing describing the site and a big arrow pointing right at the link.
   
   I get maybe a thousand extra visitors a month this way from just a few short video clips, i'm sure if you had a really popular video you could get a lot more.

   Oh wow, I had no idea you could put a link in the description! Thanks, I'll go do that right now. I go to the parks every week. In only a month I should have a few dozen videos!

   I'm also pretty sure that submitting your videos to social bookmarking sites, etc. for links improves their ranking within the YouTube search, amongst other factors.

      Possibly try to include a few related keywords in the title if you can that are frequently searched for, like you might with a hub for Google.
      
      That way in addition to those who are specifically searching for your book, you'll hopefully pick up a few who weren't, but who go on to buy it anyway.

   It can work. It all depends on how popular the video is. I've done some slideshow videos and they get about 1/4 of google's traffic to my hubs, just from posting a link in the description on youtube. Not bad and will give you a nofollow backlink (better than nothing, imo)!

   I post videos on youtube for traffic and it works, I have a drawing channel and my user name over there is WayneTully1.
   
   One of the best things that I have done is to do a multi-part video series on the same topic, that way I can target some traffic from say 5 parts rather than a single video, although I've had over 53,000 video views I know this can be increased with a bit more promotion.
   
   And one thing I've done is join other video sharing sites and title my videos slightly different between accounts, so that they appear unique in the search engines when searched for the right keyword terms.
   
   Also I do a bit of research to see if there are other videos that are similar to mine and see what their keywords are and plus I leave video responses on relevant videos too and use all of the available share tools too.
   
   It's great video marketing, just started a tattoo video channel over there on youtube too.

      Wayne, since I am a Youtube dunce, how do you set up a channel?  I have been meaning to make some videos of my PMC tutorials, of course I need a new camera first, but would love some how to info.  I will check out your videos.

         Yeah you can create a video channel quite easily, it's just like filling a profile page really once you've signed up and then just uploading your videos and re-arranging them on your channel page....watch the video that sunforged linked to...it explains better than I....

       Right, whenever you post a video if you've written it targeted to a good keyword term or phrase your video will show up at the side of others videos pages as related videos and so people will check your videos out and then hopefully see the link right at the beginning of your video description and visit your site.
       
       As these links are nofollow it's best to build your youtube channel as a network, but by a bit of participation with only the relevant people who have similar interests that are relevant to your own youtube channel and I would look at trying to get a few video responses on some of the high traffic videos in your niche if you can, it seems though you can only place one of each video as a video response, but that's ok.
