He handed me a beautiful rose bud,
His face as red as the rose itself........
I know he had been embarrased purchase it
    It meant so much,
    I would watch the rose,
    Slowly open.....

With my smile his redness softend. Knowing that just a word could lead to romance or a thud.

    Not much of a romantic,
    A kind warm hearted man,
    The bow around the rose,
Was as beautiful as the rose itself,
So young, tender, both the rose,
    And the man........

Being kind and warmhearted can be considered romantic.

Together, we looked for a vase,
    Worthy of such a rose,
    A token of his love,
For a special one was needed,
    On this occasion.

    Far away in another land,
She was waiting to give her gift
The right moment had not arrived,
    She had bought him...
    A beautiful gift.

    soon will be the season
to wine and dine your partners,
Let's practice the art of poetry,
to put inside the card to your loved ones.

...and the bud that before my
eyes became a rose. it was so
long ago and far away, no more
an image but a scent lingering
between sun and moon, sea and
    sand, inconsolable tears fall

    as i have never
    loved another as her
    what will comport me
now that she lives in the waves

the rose, the cause of the tears,
    footprints on the sand,
    memories of a hand....
    Scent now diminishing,
    Let us walk on........

then I let out a yawn,
      The past and present,
in a place that is resident...............

along the forgotten strands of lover's lullabies
    softly exchanging sighs
    and wondering how this rose
    destroyed our alibis

    the thorns on the rose,
      now removed,
      We walk hand in hand
      Remembering the words
      From so long ago

      our promise to each other
      now at last fulfilled
      our steps are sure
      hearts beating in syncopated ecstasy
of what our love has willed

    Our lives are the roses
    And loves are the petals,
    And life blossoms,
    When the love settles.

alas a petal has fallen of it's own accord
the whisper of the wind the only reminder
once again I am caught reveling in the past
a single petal to accuse me

    petals now falling everywhere,
    A reminder of the past,
    Of what could have been,
    accusations in the air,
    Words in the wind

    How many valentines?
    I can't say,
    The rose I give,
    Doesn't last a day!

and as the years slip slowly through my hands
i trace your face often in the soft white sands
but wonder if the memory is more what i want you to be
and less of what you were in reality
and here i offer my rose to the memory of you
and pray that one day we can start anew
with you being just who you are
without memories faded by distances far
no longer feeling the need to trace your face in the sand
i will trace your face with the touch of my hand

the rose may symbolize the beauty of love
but if it wilted as quickly what would we have?
just another faded memory lost in the sands
would we ever be able to keep holding hands?

give me a tree that will last through the years
so we can measure our love, our laughter our tears
it can reflect the passage of time spent together
symbolizing a love that will keep growing forever

our grandchildren can find comfort under our tree
and learn that the most precious in life is free
it comes to those who take the time to share
it comes to those who truly and deeply care.

I never noticed or documented the time or the place
When I stopped seeing anything else but your face
each time my mind wanders from conversations with others
not differentiating between friends, family or lovers

I see you in empty rooms and at an over-crowded show
At bus stops, in hallways – wherever I go
I whisper your name but you don’t seem to hear
I call out in my sleep – but I know you’re not near

The conversations we had I replay over and over again
Trying to relive the happiness and drown out the pain
I keep telling myself what a fool I have been
But I cannot block out what my heart has seen

So I live in a world where your face takes precedence
Over everything else that seems to make sense
And I wonder if you ever call out my name
And when closing your eyes do you play the same game

Or have you long forgotten the “we” that once was
Made way for real people or replaced just because
Love has a natural course that it follows
And once its over there will be no tomorrows

And someday I’ll close my eyes and you’ll be gone
But until then the memories linger on
And your face is with me wherever I go
But your body and soul left a long time ago.

has nobody else felt the need to write
or do you all prefer to fight
love is so personal but just add a line or too
tell us what love really means to you

      like an old wrinkly sack
full of wrinkly old words of love
I would happily put down my word swords
and write an ode to my far away love
but you have to wait cos she's just got back

if i made a hub with poems of love
basically the same as the ones above
would you read them or are they just plain bad
your honest opinion would make me glad

If you really make that hub,
I will read the poem of love,
But I am a little confused,
How other's lines will be used?

    the lover,
    the rose,
    the sea
    the sand,
we were walking together hand in hand........
    talking of memories,
    the future...
    the sea...
    I am beginning to wonder,
has your heart been set free?????

my heart will never be free,
    It is roaming around,
    through the air,
    cross the sea,
    looking and listening,
    and feeling your pleasure,
    My heart with your heart,
    Moments to treasure.....
