My friend Dopey(David Smith) is a brother to me. I was just informed that he was taken to the hospital for a drug overdose and is on a ventilator. His family is awaiting the results of a brain scan to see if there is any activity. He is in a coma and they are afraid that he is brain dead. I like this place and the people here so naturally I come here to share. I am beside myself and don't know what else to do. Any positve thoughts will be greatly appreciated. Namaste
sending positive thoughts and prayers your way
Positive thoughts are not very easy to say in this case.
I have a very personal view of Death.
I'm alway afraid to share it with others, as it can hurt some feelings.
So all I can say is, That I'm sure whatever happens to your friend, he will be happy with the result.
Positive thoughts your way Hokey. I am so sorry. Prayers your way too, and some (( hugs)) to comfort you.

I was late to forum again and saw down the page that he did not make it. I am sorry for your loss, and that of the family. Stay strong dear heart.
oh that's terrible..Hope he will be okay. If not, fear not, death is not the end. Warm wishes to you. Be grateful for what you do have, and that you were fortunate enough to share a part of your life with such a great person.
Hokey thats very sad. Hows his family holding up? How are you doing? I not really sure if you believe or not but I'll say a prayer for your friend, his family and you. You have alot of friends here and we fight like family, that said, you are part of this family too and we care.
positive thoughts
coming to you
though i know not
the good they'll do
just sit there
fly away
with a long stare
and pleasant dreams today
i wish i could've bought
the glory of heaven
to give you what you sought
a friend or seven
A lit flame
In David's Name
I hope he gets better soon Hokey, my thoughts are with you, blessed be!
So sorry about your friend. Positive thoughts on their way.
My heart goes out to him and his family...and to you as well!
Hokey, this disease is so tragic. Please know I've been there and my thoughts are weighing heavy in my heart, for you as well.
My sincere hope that all turns out well for him. He is lucky that he has a family that loves him. I hope this, along with all the well wishes, will aid in strengthening him and pulling him through.

I'm sorry !
I left a comment on your hub
If you need to talk, e-mail me !
Oh my dear Hokey am so sorrie you've lost your friend. My heartfelt condolences go out to you and his family.. I think its so painful when someone dear to you goes in that way.. be strong, we're here for you..
By the way nice avatar xx
I hope they begin to feel better soon, it is never good to lose someone, family or friend, hope you feel better as well soon too my friend!
When a friend is facing trouble
Its hard to know what to say,
Often we say nothing,
Or even run away.
Maybe a friend is hurting,
so hard to know what to do,
So we offer our thoughts
To say we're hurting too.
Sometimes you need to know
that you are not alone,
When tears are overflowing,
and hearts are cold as stone.
It's the loving prayers of others
that balance our lives
For when we measure love,
It's still the thought that counts.
(((Hokey)))
sending you lots of hugs & strength to see this time through
(((Shari)))

Sorry to hear. Try to keep your chin up, as my dad would say. There is always something positive to learn, from every event in our life, we must be able to pick those out, so we can grow. I certainly hope things turn positive for you.
Oh Hokey I am so sorry for your loss. I wish I were there to give ya a hug...Just be with the ones you love right now. Mourn the loss of your friend but also celebrate the life he shared with you all.

I'm sorry about your loss of someone close, but at least while he was here, he had a real friend. Stay strong.
So sorry to hear about your friend. His troubles are over now, though, so I send hugs and warm thoughts to you and his family.

Thank you so much for your kind words from everyone. This just proves to me that this is a good place. Even though we all might argue, debate, and sometimes get downright irate this place is full of good people. We are all writers which means we are creative. Creative people are passionate. I love you all and am grateful for your thoughts, love, and support. I hope that all your days are full of love, light, and laughter. Namaste
My family added you and your friend's family to our daily prayer list. I wish you a light heart and a bunch of Hugs to help your soul heal. He will forever be with you in your heart and in your memories! God Bless You my new friend!
Hokey, I am so sorry for your loss. My heart is grieving for you. I have said a prayer for you.
'Say not in grief 'he is no more' but live in thankfulness that he was'
Hebrew proverb
I love you Dopey! Please be in peace.

Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved, but hard to reconcile in the moments of loss I guess.
He was a lucky guy Hokey, having you as a friend.
This is my friend. I am using his picture as a tribute. He is missed.
Prayers and thoughts are with you and your friend during this difficult time. Warmest wishes, Ladybird
Hokey, I don't think I can say anything to help. I have lost loved ones too. Hang in there. I am sorry for your loss, but I hope you can take comfort in knowing your friend is no longer in pain.

Dang. We need to buy stock in our local hospital. Hubby got out of CCU just a couple of weeks ago, my son-in-law had to have an appendectomy last week, and two of my daughters are there now. One has been admitted for pyelonephritis, and the other has been in the ER for seven hours with severe...

I went to my oncologist/hematologist today, and the news wasn't good. My monoclonal protein (multiple myeloma) cells measure over 1,000 now, so I have to have a bone marrow biopsy. They're trying to schedule it for next Monday. I don't mind admitting that I'm scared. I'd greatly appreciate your...
