So I went in today to the doc's to get the lovely pap smear. All women love it! lol

N-e-ways now I have to go in and get my pelvic examined, meaing an ultrasound because the doc felt that my left side was a bit fuller than the right. Great! Now I have to worry about something going on down there...made the appointment for next Tuesday. And dang you have to drink lots of water an hour before going in...the bad part is YOU CAN"T USE THE BATHROOM. sad lol ooo I'm gonna be doing the potty dance big time!

I just want to get it over with and find out that it's nothing!

It's worse having to drink all that water when you are pregnant because its even harder to keep it in!
Seriously, try and relax over the whole thing if you can. Better safe than sorry and here's hoping it turns out to be nothing.

Ha! I had that done to me when I was pregnant. Had to sit in the waiting room with a BIG jug of water and tell them when I finished. I did, but there was a delay and I had to wait even longer. When I started whimpering quietly, I was told I could go to the loo, but only let a tiny bit out. Yeah, right! Finally, I go in to the doctor. So there he is, stroking the probe all over, which makes me even more desperate for the loo. Midway, the phone rings and the evil man answers it and has a long conversation, aaarrrghhhh.

Anyway, hope it all goes well for you Crazd.

That happened when I was living in Zagreb. Very different doctor-patient relationship to what I was used to before.

Ive had so many of these. Its just a precaution. It is uncomfortable, but you'll be ok. Its good your getting in so quickly. left side fuller..could be swollen, (it can get...bumped..) could be cysts..wich I have. They go away. Could be nothing at all, but the doctor is being overly cautious. Wich is wayyy better than ignoring something. try not to panic. Ill be thinking of you girly.

Crazd, those doctors enjoy torturing us, I'm sure.  The sight of the stirrups is enough to give me the willies...the whole thing looks just a little bit like a medieval torture device...but what really happens isn't so bad.

It's just a little...um, intrusive, then you find out you are FINE, and you don't have to worry any more.

The ultrasound itself is absolutely not invasive or uncomfortable.  It's almost like a pleasant massage.

Yea but on thing Paradise..I hate massages and I hate ppl touching me like that except for hubby. I'm really weird and touch me not for the most part big_smile

and yea I have to agree. Does look like a medieval torture device. you KNOW a guy made that lol

It certainly WASN'T a woman.  She might put designer shoes on the stirrups, or something...anything to make it less like the Iron Maiden.

Next thing you will be picking the dentist over a romantic evening with hubbie.

All kidding aside my friend dont worry, even if there was a problem I cant see anything that could beat you up except maybe a fishing rod  lol.

    Cheers

    Crazd, I'm sorry to hear you have to go back and have more tests done. I know how scary that can be. But usually these kinds of things are just preventative and you're probably fine. {{{HUGS}}}

Keep us updated and I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I remember my first ultrasound. I was 14 and had a UTI. Holding that water in was difficult and painful. When you combine an overly full bladder, a long 4 hour drive to the hospital, cold gel on the stomach, and some pressure by a none-too-gentle doctor's hand... let's just say the examination table got a little wet lol I DID find out I only had one kidney that day so that was probably good to know, not too happy about the life sentencing to a glass of cranberry juice every day though... Yuck, hate that stuff lol

Anyway, we all hate pap smears, but I'm sure it's nothing and better to know now than find out when it's too late to do anything about it. Don't worry too much about the ultrasound either, it's kind of a comical situation, especially if you pay attention to the way you walk, stand up, and sit down lol Kind of neat to see what your insides look like too.

    Good luck smile

don't fret, CW, it will be all right. i had that once, oooh i thought i was gonna *ahem* wet myself before they were done with the procedure because they started late, the idiots. and i was 10 minutes early! turned out to be nothing, of course. good luck!
